"Gilbert!" you ran towards your best friend with a smile on your face.

you were in the middle of the forest next to a big tree. it was the spot were you would always meet up. before school to walk together or after school to just have fun.

"I need your help!" you caught up to him completely out off breath while he stared at you in confusion.

"with what?" he asked with a chuckle. a smile on his face as he looked at your messy hair.

"I need some advice..." you said once you had finally caught your breath.

"on what?" Gilbert's eyebrows were slightly furrowed as a smile was still on his face.

"why, Charlie of course... I wanna ask him out" you said looking at the floor.

Gilbert's smile disappeared as he looked down at his feet.

right, Charlie.

Gilbert clenched his jaw. he hated when you talked about charlie. Gilbert liked you. he had liked you since the day he met you, but he was way to shy to tell you. only the thought of it made his heart beat faster.

"I don't know how to help you with that" Gilbert said as he tried to keep his smile up.

"oh please Gilbert you're his friend what does he like?" you asked as you looked at him with puppy eyes.

Gilbert froze for a second as he looked at you. your sparkling eyes just made his heart skip a beat. "I don't know" he said looking away. "I can't help you with this" he clenched his fist as he stared in the distance.

"I'll figure it out myself, thanks for the help" you said as you started to walk away slightly annoyed by his behavior.

I would've helped him if he needed advice. right?

you clenched your jaw at the thought of Gilbert having feelings for someone.

you had liked Gilbert for a while but you were afraid of ruining your friendship so you pushed those feelings away and focused on Charlie instead. and you liked Charlie, he was great! but not as great as Gilbert.

stop it Y/n! Gilbert doesn't like you anyway!

You made your way over to the schoolhouse by yourself. class was starting in a few minutes. you sat down in your seat glancing over at Charlie. His eyes locked with yours and he send you a small smile causing your heart to flutter.

You quickly looked away and focused on your book. you were really nervous about asking Charlie out. so nervous that you didn't notice the tears falling from Gilbert's eyes while he sat in his seat thinking about you.

after school you made your way over to Charlie with your heart pounding in your chest. "hey Charlie" you smiled as he turned to you.

"hello Y/n" he said as he returned your smile.

you started fiddling with your fingers as you looked at the floor. "I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me?" you slightly looked up with bright red cheeks.
