"morning Miss Stacy, morning Gilbert," you said walking into the classroom and taking your seat so you could study.

"morning Y/n," Miss stacy said smiling as she looked up from her desk. you smiled back at her.

Gilbert send you a smile before returning to his book, both of you were trying to get into college by next year, Gilbert because he was very determined to become a docter and you because you desperately needed a job soon.

you sighed as you opened your books, you didn't like studying at all, but still you went to school early every morning and stayed till late to do it.

you were almost finished with your history homework when it started raining outside, the small drops of water ticking on the windows.

you sighed as you looked outside, puddles already forming in the sand.

after a few minutes students became storming in, all completely soaked by the rain.

when they all sat down, class started and you and Gilbert had to put your stuff away.

"morning class," Miss stacy said, with a smile on her face. "take your seats please."

Miss Stacy started with her lesson about the weather, it was quite interesting. you loved Miss Stacy's lessons. she was actually good at teaching, unlike Mr. Phillips.

the day went by pretty fast, just studying and listening. the school day was now finally over and all the students went home. everyone except you and Gilbert.

"I'm off, but you two can stay as long as you like," Miss Stacy said while she grabbed her things.

you and Gilbert both smiled and nodded before turning back to studying.

you sighed as you did your math homework occasionally glancing out of the window or at Gilbert who was completely focused on his work.

just as you were about to move on to your english homework it began pouring outside, rain loudly clattering on the windows. you groaned closing your book.

"what's wrong?" Gilbert asked looking up from his books. he let out a small chuckle once he saw your frustrated face.

"I can't study like this," you said, packing your things.

"it'll probably stop raining in a few minutes," Gilbert said shrugging.

you nodded as you calmed yourself down, staring out the window once again, noticing thick grey clouds hovering over Avonlea. you shivered.

after about half an hour the rain had only gotten worse and you started to worry, nervously tapping your foot on the floor.

"can you stop that," Gilbert asked not even looking up from his book.

"oh please, like this is more distracting than the rain," you said.

"it is."

you rolled your eyes mumbling a sorry as you let your head fall into your desk, you wanted to go home.

you jumped up when you heard a rumbling sound, making you shudder. you despised thunderstorms.

when a loud bang was heard, Gilbert also looked up. "guess we're gonna have to wait some longer," he said with a chuckle.

how can you be calm right now?

another bang was heard making you squeal. Gilbert looked at you. "you alright?"

you nodded, Gilbert didn't have to know how scared you were, it would stop raining soon and you could just go home.

"are you sure?" Gilbert asked as he studied your face. "you seem rather scared,"
