"Hey Y/n!"

You sigh and turn around to see Charlie running up to you. You smile at him. "Hey man whats up?" You ask.

"Are you going to Gilbert's party?" he asked once he was near you. He started walking next to you as he ruffled his hair.

"I'm afraid I wasn't invited." you smile. Gilbert hated you, you weren't sure why but he did.

"He didn't invite you? why not?" Charlie asked

"don't ask me." you said raising your shoulders. "He'sbeen acting like this for quite a while now"

"I know.... I just thought he would've at least invited you.... I mean everyone is going."

"I really don't mind, don't need Winifred to snatch my head. I already know she'll freak if I show up." you rolled your eyes. "I don't even like Gilbert it makes no sense!"

"You know what I think? I think Gilbert likes you, he's just too stubborn to admit it. You can be my plus one if you like?" Charlie said. "to piss off that bitch of a Winifred"

"You're wrong and I don't like drama."

"then come to hang out with us. I promise it will be fun. Gilbert said we could take someone, he didn't say we couldn't take you." Charlie smiled at you.

"fine... thanks Charlie."

"Of course, that's what friends are for. I'll see you tomorrow then."

"see you!" you yelled as Charlie ran off.

you sighed, you didn't really wanna go to the party, Gilbert hated you already and you didn't want to make it worse. You used to be his friend, but then he stopped talking to you.

He started something with Winifred and honestly, you couldn't care less about them. The only thing bothering you was them keeping you away from your friends, you had never done anything to them.

The worst of all was, somewhere deep down you had feelings for Gilbert. Every single thing he said about you hurt like a pin piercing through your heart.

When you got home you called Diana and asked her to come over. She lived down the same street so she arrived within minutes.

you opened the door amd she hugged you. "What's wrong? you sounded sad on the phone."

"Charlie asked me to be his plus one for Gilbert's party."

"Well that's amazing! do you like Charlie?"

You frowned in confusion. "what no! come upstairs and I'll tell you." you said, dragging her upstairs.

"what's so wrong with Charlie?" Diana asked laughing.

"Charlie and I are just friends, he only asked me because I wasn't invited."

"Gilbert didn't invite you?" Diana asked. her eyes white. "He's such a pathetic asshole."

"Diana don't say that."

"oh come on Y/n, you're not gonna let something like that slip!" she said as she shook your shoulders.

"it's his party so it's his choice!" you said.

"You're going Y/n!" Diana said as she opened your closet and started looking "and we're gonna buy you a new dress!" she added.

"what's wrong with my dresses?"

"Y/n we need a dress to show him that you do whatever you want." Diana said.
