Chapter Two

The next morning

I went into Tenley's room so I could wake her up for school.

"Good morning, sunshine. Time to get up." I said, lightly shaking her as I crouched down beside her bed.

She sat up and rubbed her eyes before looking at me.

"Good morning."

"Come on. Let's go eat breakfast." I responded.

We got up and went downstairs, and I made her a bowl of cereal as I made myself a coffee.

I gave Tenley her breakfast before sitting down next to her.

"Where's Emma?" She asked.

I laughed. "Honey, Emma went home after you fell asleep last night."

"Oh. I wanted to tell her good morning."

"Awe. Do you like her?"

"I really like her. She's pretty."

"I know. And she really likes you."

"Is she your girlfriend?" Tenley asked.

"Is it okay if she is?" I responded.

"Yeah. I wanted her to be your girlfriend."

I laughed. "Don't worry, Lee. Emma is my girlfriend."

"That's like how Alex is Uncle Gray's girlfriend." She said, giggling.

"Yes. It's exactly like that."

"When is Emma coming over again?"

"She'll come over again soon, babe."

"Yay!"

After I dropped Tenley off at school, I went to work.

Since it's almost May, we are less busy with clients.

Usually we are the most busy during the holiday season, and during the winter because it's snowy or icy, which means lots of car accidents.

On my lunch break, I decided to call Emma.

"Hey, babe. What's up?" She asked.

"Hi, Emma. I just wanted to call and see how my girl was doing."

"I'm good. Work hasn't been that busy today. It's a non-audition day, so it's been pretty low-key. How are you?"

"I'm good. Tenley was asking about you this morning."

"She was? What did she say?"

"She asked where you were first thing when she woke up, and she told me that she wanted to tell you good morning. Then she later asked me if you were my girlfriend, and she said she wanted you to be my girlfriend because she likes you."

"Did you tell her?"

"I did. She giggled. I think she's really happy to finally have a face and a name to the girl I've always told her about."

"That's so sweet. I'm really relieved that I made a good impression." She said. "I'm excited for our date tonight."

"Me too. I can't wait to see you." I said. "Oh, that reminds me. Tenley also asked when you're coming over again. I think we're gonna have to have more dinners."

"I would love that."

"Okay, my lunch break is almost over. I'll pick you up at 5."

"Alright. See you then. Love you."
