WARNING: TRIGGER WARNINGS AHEAD, READ AT OWN RISK

I waited in front of the closed-door. It opened and a man showed up. He was strong build with a stubbly beard.

"Hello, can I help you?" He asked me politely.

"Yes, I'm looking for Cara, is she here?" He turned around and called her name. Not much later she showed up.

"Oh hi, Luisa, right?" She said. I nodded. "Is this about Rose because I really don't have time to talk about that right now." She didn't mean time, she meant that she didn't want to talk about it.

"Yes, it is about Rose..." she wanted to interrupt me but I kept talking. "I just want to talk about it, alone."

She pulled me inside, harsher than I expected. "Follow me." She walked further into the house, me behind her. She was probably going to a room where we could talk in private. She opened a wooden door that creaked and there were stairs that went down.

It looked like a basement with wooden cabinets all around the room. I didn't know how we could talk here. She stopped in the middle of the room. A weird smell overtook me and something inside me told me that this wasn't right. Something was off.

"This is what she made me do." I looked around not understanding what she meant. She walked to one of the cabinets and opened it. My mouth fell wide open. She revealed around 10 jars with teeth. What did this mean? I couldn't get any words out of my mouth and I was paralyzed. "I came in touch with my mother after so many years. I was still hurt, you know. She told me what a failure I was and gave me one more job for if I would change my mind." I was shaking. "I had a friend, she meant everything to me. She helped me with my mother in high school and made sure I didn't make the wrong decisions. But then, she died. I was destroyed. I tried to contact Rose and called her, but she didn't even recognize my voice anymore. That's what pushed me over the edge, I took the job my mother offered me and became addicted to crime." I looked around. I didn't understand why she showed me this.

"Wh..." It was hard to talk, I was still shaking and my legs hurt.

"She did this to me." She said. "And she will suffer." She had so much hate in her eyes and looked like a totally different person than yesterday. She grabbed a chair. I knew what she was going to do, she wanted to tie me up. I swallowed and something in me changed. I wasn't paralyzed anymore, I knew now, better than ever that I should run.

I ran towards the stairs and took three at a time to get upstairs. I could hear Cara scream. "No!" I took the front door and pushed, but it was locked. Change of plans. I ran towards the kitchen, but suddenly I was stopped by a hellish pain in my leg and ear. Everything went faster than I could handle and I fell down on the ground. I grabbed my leg and I could feel the cold, red blood flowing out of it. Cara showed up above me, with a gun in her hand. "I"m sorry, you didn't leave me another choice." She said.

The words that came out of my mouth were trembling and I didn't know if anyone could understand them. "Wh... What do you mean? You... didn't have to show me that."

She rolled her eyes. "Do you have any idea how much it hurts to see Rose again and be reminded of everything she did to me and how much it changed me?" She talked like a psycho.

"You don't have to be like this anymore, Rose changed, you can do it too." She laughed at that.

"Oh, you still think that Rose changed? How long will it take for her to fall back in her old patterns."

"No! You can change, I know that. Let me help you." I knew that by talking with her I would get some time, but I couldn't do anything. It would have to be someone else who saved me.

"Even if I could change, I wouldn't want to change until I would do what Rose deserves." She smiled and went to the kitchen. I tried to stand up but I couldn't, my leg couldn't do anything. She laughed. "You don't have to try to escape, your leg won't do anything." She said in a playful way. I tried to push myself forwards with my hands and my other leg, but before I knew it, Cara was back in front of me, this time with a knife. She grabbed my arm and stroke it with the smooth side of it, so I could feel the cold metal. Tears welled up in my eyes and I knew that it wouldn't take long until I would start crying.

That's when I heard something from around the corner. Cara held my arm tightly and looked up to where the sound came from. I looked up but didn't see anything. She stayed quiet for a moment.

"Why..." I swallowed. My voice sounded so rough. "Why are you doing this?" I asked and I could feel a tear rolling out of my eye.

"Oh, the only thing I'm doing is saving you, honey." She's crazy. "You wouldn't want to stay with a criminal like Rose." My breathing quickened and I kept hoping for Rose to show up.

This is just a dream and I'm going to wake up any moment, I kept saying to myself. But it was not. It was real and I wanted this to end, as soon as possible.

Cara rose her knife up and brought it to my throat. I swallowed, carefully. Tears were streaming over my cheeks.

"Cara stop!" Rose. Cara removed the knife again and I looked up. Rose had another knife in her hand. "Let her go, she has nothing to do with this, I'm the problem." I wanted to run towards her, lock her in my arms forever and go away from here, but I couldn't, this was only the beginning.
