Thirty minutes later, Ben walked into a large study room. He glanced around the room, taking in the Alderaan artifacts displayed on shelves, roaring fireplace, and chainmail statues. The man from earlier was accompanied by five others, who were all sitting at a large glass table, their reflections glancing off. They all were old, their hair greying, long beards hanging from their chins.

Ben silently took a seat at the glass table, facing the man from earlier. He raised an eyebrow in anticipation, curious as to what deal they had for him.

The man from earlier cleared his throat. "It's a pleasure to finally meet your aquaintance. I am Lord Barkley, and these are Lord Joseph," he gestured to the grumpy-looking man on his left, "Lord Charles," he pointed his hand to the man sitting next to Lord Joseph, "Duke Hatt," he nodded to a very old, fragile man with white hair, "Earl Port," his eyes drifted to a very old man, "and Lord Pirf."

Ben politely nodded in greeting at the men at the table.

"We are on the king's private council," Lord Barkley stated. The men nodded. Each man was adorned in purples and reds, signifying their high status. They all held their heads proudly and their chins high, aware of their coveted positions.

"What does this have to do with me?" Ben asked briskly, annoyed. He had no care for exchanging pleasantries; he had not left Rey by herself just to talk with some noblemen. If they were going to waste his time, he was going to have a problem.

Duke Hatt's mouth formed into a smile, the wrinkles by his eyes crinkling. "So much like his mother."

Ben stiffened. What did this have to do with his mother? With Leia?

"Now, now, let's not scare him," Lord Charles interjected, narrowing his eyes at Duke Hatt. He turned back to Ben. "We were... aware of Alexander's... appetite..." he began, forming his words carefully.

Ben squinted his eyes in anger, unable to fathom the words that emerged out of Lord Charles' mouth. These people knew of Alexander's bloodlust and didn't do anything to stop it? And he thought he was evil.

"You knew?" Ben hissed. "You let innocent people die. Why?" He tilted his head, eyeing each of the councilmen. "Why did you protect him?" he demanded, his eyes flashing in anger.
