These dark shadows that hide the sun from us all. Especially on this day. I felt like something was wrong here but what I couldn't quite make out. Wynrie began to give birth and I knew I had to get the nurses and doctor in here. As soon as they got in the room, they got everything in order to deliver the babies safely.
With every push, she gave my hand a tight, but gentle squeeze. As soon as the crying began she had began to relax some. Suddenly, the machines hooked up to her began to go off at a rapid rate. And in that moment, the baby didn't utter a single cry either. My heart began to race at it's own rapid rate as the nurses tried to find a way to save her and her newborn baby girl.
They took the baby to another room and I sent a telepathic message to Tate to follow them while I stayed behind and watched over Wynrie. I watched as blood began to pour out of her body and they started to semi-panic. I could hear Tate's thoughts and could tell the same thing was happening on his end too. My hope for Wynrie and her daughter were fading fast. Next thing I knew, the machines were going off but at a dead stop of an annoying ass "Eeeeeeee".
I knew then that it was over. She was gone. Tate walked in the room I was in and before anyone could protest, he put them under his control and made them leave. He unplugged the machines hooked up to Wynrie and stood over her body. "The little girl.. Is dead too", he said, his voice like gravel. "I figured as much. As soon as I saw them take her out of the room in a rush.. I knew.. Just like I knew when they all began to panic and the machines wen off in here..", I replied.
His silence didn't shock me in the slightest. I could tell he was reading my mind in that moment as I was his. I also knew that this moment right now was just a confirmation of things. Tate's phone went off and I knew it could only be one person, Daemon. He didn't bother leaving the room as he answered the call. "Yeah", Tate asked. "Just calling to see how things went with her and the delivery. S'all my brother", Daemon replied back. He grew silent and Daemon said,"Brother?" Tate was quick to reply.
"Yeah. Things went well and she gave birth to her daughter", Tate replied to his brother. "But", Daemon asked. "But not long after the birth, they both stopped breathing and moving completely", he replied back. "So they're both.." "Yeah", Tate said, cutting his brother off before he uttered the words aloud. The silence that grew between them seemed endless and tense. "Shit", Daemon said, angry. "Yeah", Tate replied. It was all he could say to his brother in this moment because he felt exactly how Daemon had.
They clearly had been feeling guilty about the death of Wynrie and her newborn daughter. I saw as Tate glanced outside and noticed the dark shadows that were cast over the hospital and felt as I had, like the one who might as well have killed them ourselves. Things weren't going to sit right with us for a very long time now, that was for sure. I knew Daemon was most likely feeling the same exact way as we were.
"I've got the bodies myself. I'll bury them properly and call you when it's done to let you know the details. You should go home now, Rhave", Tate said, his voice full of sorrow. I nodded at him and headed out to the parking lot to get the car and take myself back to James'. I knew Tate had done this so that we could privately show our emotions without anyone being near us when it happened. I wasn't far away from James so I knew if I was going to grieve I needed to do so on my way back there.
I was about halfway there and I began to cry. My friend had just died along with her daughter and I couldn't help but go back to our last conversation together, ever. I had pillows on all sides of my belly just in case of an accident and my tears had began making them increasingly more wetter than the last tear had. I wished our final conversation had been about something other than Ryder and I's relationship. I wish I would've asked about her and Daemon's relationship just to see how things went with them. To make sure she was safe and felt like she was forever protected.
My phone rang and it was Ryder. I answered to find to my surprise that he didn't intentionally call me. He was making love to some other girl and another girl laughed in the background at the girl he was screwing. It was in an instant I could see what they were all doing. The girl who laughed was playing with the other girl's titties while Ryder took her against the bedpost from behind and choked her. The tears began to sting my eyes and my cheeks. The girl who laughed was now squeezing and sucking on the other girl's titties while he continued to fuck her roughly. His pace quickened and that only meant one thing, he was about to come.
Before I knew why happened, I heard him groan out and moan at his release inside the girl. Also before I knew it, I had crashed the car and the other driver was the one who didn't stop one bit. Not even an attempt to stop either. I heard Ryder's panic on the phone as he realized I was on call the whole time and when he heard the crash and had gotten no response, he began to scream my name into the phone.
