I knew that Jax wasn't going to be thrilled at the idea of me calling his ex whatever she was to him, but I had no choice at this point. Yeah Margo went a bit crazy when he ended things with her, but that was a few years ago. I'm sure she has moved on to her latest victim by now. We needed information on Scarlette and how it was even remotely possible that she had no idea about what she is or any of us for that matter. If anyone could answer these questions, it would be Margo.

Margo was turned back in the late 1800s. She refused to tell anyone the exact year due to the ridiculous saying "It's rude to ask a woman her true age". Being that she is old as hell, she should have more knowledge of this situation than any of us.

"Hello?" Her innocent voice came over the phone. I internally groaned knowing that her voice didn't match her devious personality.

"Margo, it's Chloe." I said cautiously, hoping she wasn't going to hang up on me before I could even ask her anything. I began playing with a strand of my hair, a nervous habit that Mitch seems to find cute for some strange reason.

"Chloe. To what do I owe this pleasant surprise?" Margo asked, her tone dripping with sarcasm. Ah, there it was. Her true tone.

"I need to ask you something important Margo. I've come across a witch and she doesn't seem to know what she is or what any of us are for that matter." I explained quickly.

Margo was silent for a moment, I glanced at my phone for a second to check if she was still there. "That sounds intriguing. How do you know that this girl doesn't know anything?"Margo asked me.

I explained everything that happened today to Margo, excluding the fact that Scarlette is Jax's mate of course. I wasn't completely sure that Margo had moved on and the last thing we needed was for his unknowing mate to be slammed at the top of Margo's hit list.

"Well the only thing that I can think of would be that her powers were blinded at a young age for whatever reason and someone was either trying to protect this girl or prevent her from doing something." Margo stated mafter of factly. "Why is this girl of any importance to the likes of you?" Margo asked me with a hint of something I couldn't put my finger on in her tone. Before I could answer her question, Jax had already snatched my cell phone from my ear and hand, smashed it and stormed back inside.

Once my shock wore off, I yelled after him. "Wait, Jax! I can explain!" But Jax was too pissed off to listen to me and slammed his office door behind him.

I looked at Mitch, who was looking at me with concern. "I'm sorry, I know that calling Margo was a terrible idea." I quietly said to Mitch with a pout. Mitch simply nodded his head and hugged me. "Mitch, I think Margo was right though." I started to tell him as he pulled away. "What did she say?" Mitch asked me as we walked back to the sectional couch. I sat down and grabbed a throw blanket from the back of the couch and chuckled when I saw that it was covered in pictures of wolves. "Really?" I asked him with an eyebrow raised. Mitch shook his head and smirked. "Anyway, Margo told me that it's possible that someone could have binded Scarlette's powers when she was younger to protect her." I explained with a smile.

I looked at Mitch to see that he was deep in thought. I let him ponder on this information for a moment before linking my hand with his. What are you thinking? I mindlinked him. Although I'm not a were, I am mated to one which makes me a pack member and able to mindlink like they do. Pretty cool if you ask me.
"I'm thinking that she could be right, but even if this is the case, now we have yet another mystery to solve of why her powers were bound and how the hell we are supposed to explain all of this to her and find out." Mitch said with a groan.

I didn't think about that part, I sighed. He was right. How in the hell were we going to explain all of this to Scarlette? "Oh hey girl I just wanted to let you know that you're actually a witch like me and you have a mate who just so happens to be an alpha were." Yeah like that would end well. That poor girl would think that I'm insane and she would surely disappear. I groaned and stretched my arms over my head and snuggled into Mitch's arms. "What are we going to do?" I quietly asked my mate. "I have no idea babe. None. We have to tell Jax though." Mitch told me as he gently squeezed me with his embrace.

I heard it all. Jax mind linked the both of us. I rolled my eyes. Stupid were super hearing. I looked up at Mitch and smirked at him as he shot a dirty look towards Jax's office door.

"So almighty one, what's the plan?" I called out to Jax. I knew I was only pushing his buttons further, but I didn't care. We had an adventure in our hands now. I was excited, this small town has been boring lately.
"You really have to keep pissing him off don't you?" Mitch groaned in my ear as Jax's office door swung open.
I simply shrugged my shoulders and looked up at our pissed off alpha as he stomped our way.

"The plan is for you to win her trust over as her new best friend to be, while Mitch and I do some digging into her nonexistent past." Jax ordered with his alpha tone. I cringed a bit, the power that radiates from an alpha tone is strong. I hate when he uses it. Which unfortunately is often since I have the tendency to piss him off.

"Sounds good to me, hopefully she warms up to me soon. She seems to be very closed off though. I'll see what I can do." I said as I gave Mitch a quick kiss and stood up.

"What do you think we'll actually be able to find Jax? I've already done countless searches for her and came up with nothing." Mitch asked Jax. Jax glared at his best friend. "There has to be something that we're missing Mitch, no one can hide that good." Jax snapped. "Woah. Sorry I asked." Mitch answered with his hands up in mock defense.

"Boys play nice while I'm gone and for the love of Godess Jax, don't break anything." I laughed over my shoulder as I left the pack house. Time to get to know Scarlette. I hope she opens up to me. This whole mess is confusing enough as it is.
