•Chapter Twenty-three•

"I just noticed until now how short you are, (Y/N).."

I turn away from my paperwork and look at Hange. "Im literally (Y/A)," I tell her, confused as to why she suddenly told me that. She smiled at me, which threw me off even more. "I'm 5'6~I'm a actual woman~" She says in a teasingly way.

"Hey! I'm only three years younger than you! I'm twenty-seven! I'm a woman! A strong and smart woman!" I try to convince her. Now I was pissed. I may be short but I can kick some ass.

"I'll kick your ass!" I shout at her. She starts to laugh, "Oh yeah? Come at me, shrimpy!" Hange then gets in fight position. 'Shrimpy'..what a fool she is. "What did you say?!" I then got up from my chair and picked up a near wooden chair and launched it at her.

As expected, she easily dodged it. As a result of throwing the chair, it made a loud noise when it hit the floor. Though, I am surprised it didn't break.

At that moment, the two of us noticed our big mistake.Hange quickly got the chair back to its original position and sat down on it while I sat back and tried to focus on my paper work.

Literally ten seconds later, Levi walked in, grumpy as usual. "The hell was that noise?" he asked in a rather harsh way. The two of us looked at each other and back at Levi. "We heard it from the kitchen, boss~" Hange casually told him. I quickly nodded in agreement, knowing if I said something, I would make things worse.

Levi looked at us, rather suspicious of us. I'm the end, he just sighed and walked away. Once we knew he was fat enough away from us, we quietly chuckled. "I can't believe we convinced him.." I got up from my chair and walked over to her. I quickly grabbed her glasses and ran away.

"(Y/N)!!" Hange shouted. Without thinking, I ran past Levi. Once I noticed, I looked behind me and saw him look at me with those stone cold eyes. That scaring me, I ran even faster. I ran for the elevator and soon got inside. Once the doors closed, a wave of relief struck through me.

It was then that I decided that I was going to hide at the cafe the Mafia owned. As soon as the elevator opened, I quickly ran to the direction of the cafe.

I'm so in trouble. I can't hide forever..but for now I have to.

As soon as I got to the cafe, I fixed my hair and casually walked in, acting like I didn't just run for five minutes straight.

I noticed that the Cafe was empty. I checked the time on my phone. It's pretty early..I guess they just opened.

The waiter immediately noticed who I was and took me to the back room. "If Levi comes here, act causal. Do not speak of me. Do not get me anything to eat or drink. I'm just gonna hide in this closet." I tell the waiter, who just nods.

I quietly stood in the closet for a good while. I reached for my pocket and got out Hange's glasses. For a joke, I put them on.

Suddenly, the closet door flew open, revealing a emotionless girl, which was Hange, and a pissed of man, which was Levi.

At that moment, I knew, that I fucked up.

I casually stood there. "Fancy meeting you here. I was just getting come coffee." I spoke in a shaky voice. Hange, who was behind Levi, just mouthed, 'Good Luck', which made me twice as much scared.

"Mind telling me what the hell you're doing here, (Y/N)?" He asked. "Like I said, coffee. I ran here because I was going to fall asleep." I told him. Hange just facepalmed. I didn't dare to laugh though, as much as I wanted to.

His look said everything. He didn't believe me, I just made him ten times more pissed off.

Is today the day I die? Probably.

...

"There's a car in the ally. Let's go." Levi then walked away, leaving me and Hange alone. "You're so screwed. When you ran off, he immediately went to me. My head still hurts from getting whacked in the head by a newspaper." Hange complained. I took off her glasses and gave them to her.

We started to follow Levi after he was far away for our liking. "Boss is a complicated guy, you know? He hides so many emotions that even his close friends don't know much about him.." Hange explained. I turned to her direction and looked at her confusingly. "He's the boss. He is meant to look tough and act serious. He wants to make a good impression of everyone because he cares about them.." Hange smiles.

He cares about others? That's new..

"It's not like he isn't a fun guy to be around. You just have to catch him at the right moment."

Now that I think about it..I've never seen Levi genuinely smile and laugh freely. It was either devilishly or sarcastically.

Once the three of us got in the car, it was silent. That made time for me to really think how to get out of being in trouble..Maybe I could just run to my quarters?

Good plan.

The moment I got out of the car, I made a run for it. A few seconds in, I noticed this was a terrible idea. So, I looked back to see Levi right there behind me.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked in a rather creepy way. He then picked me up and put me over his shoulders.

What. The. Hell.

I knew I was beet red. I just knew it. I looked in front of me, which was behind Levi, and saw Hange just smirking at me. I flipped her the bird and she just silently chuckled at me.

We got in the doctors office and he put me down. I noticed that Hange wasn't in the room.

Oh shit.

"What if you got hurt somehow, you idiot?" He asked me quietly. I looked at him with confusion and he just sighed.

He leaned closer to me and kissed me softly. It wasn't like the other one. This kiss was full of emotion.

Could it be..love?

Impossible..I'm probably his stress toy. Just the thought of that made me feel uncomfortable.

It was then when Levi pulled away. "What's wrong?" He whispered.

He isn't leaving?

"What am I to you, Levi?" I ask. He looks emotionless, like always. Of course..I'm just a toy.

"Well..you're special."

I look up at him, giving him a shocked expression. He smirks, "you didn't think I was just using you for your good looks, right?" I shake my head in denial.

"Special..?" I didn't understand what special meant. He rolled his eyes and sighed. "How specific do I have to be, (Y/N)? You're special to me" He tells me.

To him...?

"Well..you're special to me too.." I say in a faint voice. He just smirks and pats my head, messing my hair up in the process.

"How cute." He says. I blush at how he said it. Is he teasing me? "Whatever.." I roll my eyes.

Knock knock

The two of us quickly look over to the door and get away from each other. "What do you want?" Levi asks the mysterious person outside the door.

"Boss?" The person opens the door, revealing Armin. "Do you need something, Armin?" I ask with a smile. I'm acting like nothing happened.

Right..nothing happened.
