Loved For Once (Levi x Reader)

•Chapter Forty-eight•

"Well great! You got my office all ruined!" Levi shouts. Kenny then laughs, "Is that what you're worried about? You clean freak!" Kenny shouts back. He then whispers in my ear, "Don't move. I'm using you as a shield so they don't shoot." I then gulp.

I'm a shield!

Kenny then moves me in front of him. "Back off, unless you want to shoot your beloved (Y/N)." He says.

"(Y/N)?! Why are you with him?!" Eren asks. I don't answer, of course. I'll answer once all of this is over.
It was at this moment when Kenny and Levi shot at each other.

What I didn't expect was for Levi to get shot in the shoulder and Kenny to get shot in the hand. Yes, the hand. As usual, Levi has good aim. He meant to shoot there, just barely missing my shoulder. He wanted him to let go of me, so I could run to him.

"(Y/N)! Run to me!" Hange shouted. I hesitated, only because Caven was there. "Have you forgotten? I'm still here." Caven then shoots towards the table. "Levi, we don't have guns." Eren shouted. "The hell? Why?!" He asked. Levi ran to the table where the two are.

"You think I can't use a gun with one hand?!" Kenny switches the gun to his other hand and shoots the table. Caven then turns to me, "why aren't you doing anything?" She asks. I hesitate to answer, but eventually say something. "I'm..frozen." I stutter.

I wasn't actually frozen, I just didn't know what to do. If I went to Levi I would be shot, but if I stayed with Kenny, I would be a target to Levi. I didn't know what to do.

I was..frozen.

"Shit..if we stay any longer then we will get surrounded. We have to end this!" Kenny runs towards the table and shoots. I could tell the three weren't ready, so I acted without thinking and pulled him back.

"The hell are you doing?!" He asks in a rather harsh way. I then steal one of his guns and grab my gun and point it to Caven and Kenny.

"I don't understand. Why can't you just get along?!" I ask. The two men stand there in silence. Have I done something? Have I made them question themselves? Is this gonna work?

It was then when a gun was shot. I look in front of me (to Caven) and quickly move out of the way. "You betrayed us!" She shouted. Another bullet was shot. This time, it was to Caven. It was like it happened in slow motion. She got shot two times. One in her right rib and one in her left shoulder.

She fell down.

"Caven!" I then rush over to her. I rip parts of my shirt and put it where the two bullet shots were. "Stay with me!" Tears threatened to fall from my eyes. "I trusted you.." she muttered. "I just wanted..I.." I didn't know what to say. I was in shock. She slowly lifted her hand and caressed my cheek.

"I didn't want this to happen..I swear." I tell her. "You're an idiot if you think those two will get along." Her hand then drops, making a loud thud. I checked her heartbeat and..

..it wasn't beating.

I stood there in shock. I didn't want to face Kenny. He probably felt the same. Betrayed by one of his only friends.

Even so, I turn around.

Kenny was looking at me with an expressionless face. It then turned into a sad expression, then to a mad expression.

I looked at the three, that tried to shoot, but their guns didn't have any bullets. When they shot, it just made a clicking noise.

"You want us to get along, eh?" He asks. I see Levi slowly approach him with a knife. "You know, I was thinking about it. But then this happened." He stepped towards me.

I still have two guns, I can avoid getting shot. But..I don't want to shoot him.

I see Kenny take out his knife slowly. Kenny suddenly turns around and tries to stab Levi, only for Levi to dodge it just barely. He then looks at me with a hopeful expression.

Without another thought, I pick up the two guns and shoot Kenny. It was only when Kenny fell to the ground I realized what I've done. I quickly ran to him and kneeled down.

Once again, I try to stop the bleeding. I could tell it wasn't working. I just knew. His face soon turned pale and the blood kept gushing out.

I was terrified. I wasn't terrified of the gory sight but of what I've just done. Not only did I technically kill Caven, but I shot Kenny.

I shot my father figure.

"Please tell me I didn't do that.." I mutter. He opens his eyes and coughs out blood. "You did, and damn, was I surprised." He coughed out. I look at Levi, who was in shock.

Why was he shocked?

"You have the equipment to save him right? I can help him! I'm a doctor!" I look at Levi with hope, only to get a face filled with shock. A hand suddenly held mine. I looked at Kenny to see he was holding my hand tightly. "I think it's time for me to go." He says. "What?! No! I could save you!" I shout.

He then laughs. The familiar sound that I heard almost everyday when I lived with him. His laughing only caused him to cough up more and more blood. "You're a good woman, (Y/N). Always looking for the best way to fix problems." He mutters. I tried to explain. "I just wanted to.." he then shushes me. "It's funny. I'm Levi's uncle..but your the one that's sad?"

I look over to Levi. "It was bound to happen one day.." Levi mutters. Hange and Eren look at him with a disgusted face, making Levi to sigh and kneel down.

"Listen here you old cowboy. Don't think for a second I don't feel bad. I may not show my feelings, but you have to be a fucking idiot to think I'm not sad. You're my only family. My only family is dying in front of me. You think I wouldn't feel at least a little bad? You're a moron." He says. That made Kenny laugh even more. "Stop laughing..it's causing you to—"

"For this runt to say what he just said, I think he finally fulfilled my wish." Kenny said. Everyone in the room was confused. "I just wanted to see that he actually cared." Kenny then coughed over and over again.

Tears formed in my eyes once again. "Please don't leave..I could help you." I try to argue, but by the look of his face, I knew what his final decision was. "It's for the best.." he then puts his hands and both Levi and my shoulder. "You kids have a good life, okay?" Once his hands dropped from our shoulders, I knew that he was gone.

Another loved one gone.

I didn't hold back my tears now. I put my hands over my face and cried my heart out. He's gone for good. Both of them.

Gone forever.

"Please go alert everyone that everything is fine." Levi orders Hange and Eren. Once the two leave, Levi let's out a sigh.

He then hugs me, reassuring me that everything is okay. But it isn't. I just saw my closest friends die right before my eyes.

And it was my fault.
