Numb tears are always an old friend.

"(Y/N)..don't cry over such a fool. You deserve better!" Armin tried to convince me. I stay quiet. Then, there's a knock at the door. "(Y/N)~ Is something the matter? I heard noise." It was Hange. The two of us stayed quiet. I decide to answer after a while.

"Yeah. I'm just fine. I just dropped something
On my toe. Hurt so bad~" I lied. Armin didn't look anywhere but me. "Oh okay. Make sure you get some ice on that." She then laughed, "what am I saying? You know that!" After that, she walked away.

I sighed in relief. Armin look terrified. His eyes showed fear. "I don't know what you've heard from others..but one thing I do know is that you're not and idiot. You may be weird and unique, but not an idiot. You're one of the most skilled people I've ever known!" Armin smiled, slowly reaching for my hand that contains the scissors.

I then dropped the scissors. "I need to go to the uniform place.." I muttered. "For that mission..that me and Levi are going on..how fun." I smile weakly.

Can I just lock myself in my quarters? No one will notice. No one ever does.

If you left for good, no one would notice.

They're right.

"Sure..let's go. Let me inform Boss first." Armin pulls me out of the doctors office and brings me to Sasha, who's casually eating an apple. "Watch her. Make sure she doesn't go near the doctors office." Armin then ran off towards Levi's office.

Sasha looked at me for a couple seconds. "You look like shit. You alright? Or do I have to give you half of my apple?" Sasha asks, smiling like always. "I dropped something on my toe and it hurts." I lie again. "Such a klutz~" she jokingly says. I only smile weakly in response.

Armin slowly opened the door to Levi's office. "Me and (Y/N) are going to the uniform shop to get her things for the job." Armin stated. "Yeah, yeah. Just don't take long." Levi spoke in a rather cold voice like always.

By the sound of it, Levi was doing just fine. If only he knew what he was doing to (Y/N)..

Armin sighed, turning to the door and grabbing the knob. "And could you tell (Y/N) that I..." Levi then paused. He looked like he was deep in thought. "That we're going on that job on Thursday. She has to be ready at 6." Armin narrowed his eyes. Did Levi mean to say something else?

Probably not. Armin shakes his head in denial.

"Dismissed."

It was then Armin realized something. Boss was hiding something. Something that didn't want to be discovered by anybody. Once Armin was out of Levi's office, he ran to (Y/N) to see if she was okay.

Once he got to the kitchen (where Sasha and (Y/N) we're currently talking), he sighed in relief. She hasn't moved from the position she was in when I left.

I looked at Armin, who was out of breath. I saw him look at me in a caring way, which threw me off. "Should we go now? It looks like it's going to rain." I inform Armin, who nodded in response. "Yes, let's bring two umbrellas. I need you to wear a hoodie so no one recognizes you." Armin then walks to the elevator, picking up two umbrellas on the way. I quickly follow Armin to the elevator.

I remember when I was last outside. I was actually going to the same place as I am now. I was getting my uniform. The one I'm currently wearing under this hoodie to hide my face with.

"You seem stressed." Armin finally breaks the ice. I look at him normally at first. Then those words he just spoke to me kicked in.

Stressed? Are you kidding me? I tried to cut myself earlier and now you're noticing?

My face slowly shows the expression of disgust and discomfort. "Stressed? That's an understatement, Armin. I swear—you..I—" I didn't know what to say. What he just said threw me off for some reason. "I don't know how to express myself right now. Let's get the clothes and be done with it."

The elevator then opens, and the two us silently walked out. The two guards that were at the elevator looked at the both of us cautiously. I decided to ignore it and keep moving.

It was a ten minute walk to the uniform shop. Neither Armin or I spoke to each other on the walk. Once we walked in, we were greeted by Carla, who just smiled. "I was expecting you, (Y/N). I have your clothes in this bag." She then handed me a bag. "It's your size. I made sure of it!" She must of used the measurements that she took for my uniform.

"Thank you, Miss Jaeger. I appreciate your hard work." I then smile at her, showing my appreciation. "You're so kind, (Y/N). I wonder how you got in this mess~." She then averted her eyes to Armin. "What a pleasant surprise! The brains behind it all. Such a tragic loss. I'm so sorry." She must be talking about Erwin. I guess she knows they used to be close.

"Thank you, Carla." He says with a dull face. That's new. A dull face on Armin? That's rare. "We may not see him, but I know his presence is with us. I can feel it." Carla says in a confident tone. "Well, you have a good day, Miss Jaeger." The two of us then walk out of the shop, only the rain making us stop in our tracks.

Thank goodness we brought umbrellas. If we didn't, we would be in a pickle. "This brings back memories.." I mutter to myself. Levi and I didn't have umbrellas.

How stupid of us.

That memory will probably be the last that I have enjoyed with him. I probably ruined the relationship we had when I lashed out at him. When I got butt hurt.

I opened my umbrella and put it over my head. The two of us walked back silently again. I wouldn't call this awkward, nor would I call it comfortable silence.

I didn't know what to call this.
