•Chapter Thirty-nine•

"(Y/N), I think it's time for you to live a normal life."

My eyes widened. What is he implying exactly? "What..?" It the only thing I could say at the moment. He breathed a shaky sigh. "Pack your stuff and go. Don't speak of anything that happened here. Not even me." Levi opened the door and left.

He's..kicking me out? For what? Are we done? Did I do something wrong?

Hours later, I was back into my home. The landlord was happy to give it to me. I brought Eli with me, because she was technically mine.

I was heartbroken. I couldn't say a word to him after the conversation we had.

..and I thought I was gonna spend the rest of my life with him. What a joke.

"(Y/N)! It's good to have you back!" A doctor said to her. "Our hero as arrived!" Another spoke.

Before I joined the Mafia, I was the top dog. I guess I still am.

"(Y/N)! I know you just came back, but could you please check on a patient for me?" One asked. "After, can you please check if I made this medicine right?" another asked.

I'm sorry Petra, for failing your only request.

"Sure! I'm glad to be back!" I smiled at them.

Fake.

At the end of the day, everything was okay. At least, to everyone around me. I feel terrible. I quickly changed my sad expression when I saw one of the nurses. "Hey, (Y/N)! I was wondering if we could go to the bakery we always used to go to." The one that I went with Mikasa. I smiled at her, "of course!"

"Have you seen (Y/N)?" Hange asked Eren. He shook his head, "No, I was actually looking for her as well. Her office is empty along with her quarters." He said. Hange didn't hesitate running to Levi's office after that.

"What the hell?! What happened to her?!" She asked in a rather harsh way. "She's gone." Levi answered. "Levi..what about the house? Your future!" She asked.

"She's safer without me." He answered.

Hange walked over to Levi and slapped him across the face. "Do you know who we are?! What this organization is?! We could easily have hundreds of people guard her!" Levi didn't flinch, nor did he show emotion.

"Get out of my office." He muttered. "What?" Hange was hesitant. "I said get out." Levi told her more harshly. Hange adjusted her glasses and walked out of his office.

"We haven't seen (Y/N) for awhile. Plus, the doctor's office is empty. Maybe something happened?" The man paused, waiting for his boss's response.

"No. Levi knew we were planning something, so he made her leave. Bold of him." Kenny smiled. "We know where she currently lives, shall we go get her?" Another man asked Kenny.

"Go."

And just like that, three men rushed out of the door. "You lost, Levi." Kenny muttered.

I just got home and I was exhausted. It felt weird being here. Being alone. Usually, I was with Levi. Comfortable and loved by him. But..I guess I was just a toy in the end.

I laid down on my bed and couldn't get back up. I was too tired. Tired of this life. I slowly closed my eyes, allowing my body to rest for the day.

(2:46am)

I woke up to the sound of footsteps. I thought it was Eli, but realized that she couldn't make that noise since she's so small.

Wait. Just wait until they come close.

I proceed to stay still and not make any noise even though it was very tough. I listened to the footsteps getting closer and closer. There were three people. One on the left, one on the right, and one right in front of me.

I felt a hand touch my arm, and knew that this was the time to act.

Then attack.

I grab the person's arm and twist it. I then run downstairs to the kitchen and grab a knife. This is real. I'm being attacked.

Be prepared for anything.

I held the knife tightly and ran towards the person I hurt first and hit them in the head with the back of the knife, causing them to fall to the ground and faint.

I looked at Eli, who was near the front door. Grab Eli and go. There's no way that I could knock out the other two. They know what to expect.

If you want to escape, act like you're gonna attack, then run.

I ran over to them with the knife, causing them to flinch. This gave me the time to run. Good thing they didn't have guns, or I would be screwed.

I ran to the front door and grabbed Eli. Once I was on my feet, I opened the door and left.

I ran, ran as fast as I could.

I held Eli tightly and ran towards the place I should be at. I open the door and run to the elevator. I quickly put the password in and run into the elevator. Once the door is shut, a wave of relief hits me. I look at Eli, who was as scared as me.

I pet her softly, calming her down.

Once the door opened, I prepared myself for the worse. Who knows what will happen. I was kicked out.

Kitchen. Go to the kitchen.

I slowly walked to the kitchen and saw Sasha there. A big smile grew on my face. "Sasha!" I whispered. She quickly turned around and ran to me and hugged me.

"(Y/N)! You're not supposed to be here! Why are you here??" She asked. I of course hugged back, "There's these dudes chasing me. I'm pretty sure they work for Kenny." I whispered.

"Holy shit!" She said, then covered her mouth. It's good to be here..it's only been three days, but still.

(Don't question the three days..)

"What's going on here??" A voice behind us asked. I froze, not wanting to look behind me.
