Prologue

He watched the man he loved from afar, watched him leave to go find himself as he had told his family when he was of age to leave. He watched the young man grow up into a level headed down to earth man, to the man he fell deeply in love with.

He watched as he met another man and started a life with that man. He can't put any blame on another as it's his fault his beloved had met someone else, he hadn't told the man they are mates, the man thinks he doesn't have a mate nor a wolf so he didn't feel a pull toward this man when he was of age to find his mate. He sees the man is happy and in love with his lover and will do anything to keep him happy, even if it's without him in his life.

"Hey handsome, you ready to go?" Collen asked, looking at his sexy boyfriend of four years. He is nervous, he is taking Xavier out to dinner and is planning on asking him to marry him, the ring burning a hole is his pocket and has been for weeks. He planned the perfect night for this and doesn't want anything to ruin it.

"Yes, do I look alright?" Xavier asked, biting his lip nervously. Collen smiled and kissed his boyfriend's sweet lips.

"You look amazingly handsome, perfect for tonight." Xavier had on a pair of black slacks, a purple button down dress shirt and a black jacket, his hair was slicked back and his smile was sparkling, Collen was awestruck by his boyfriend's looks, his personality and all around goodness he has within himself. Collen wore something similar, only a baby blue button down dress shirt.

Collen and Xavier go to a little intimate restaurant off the water, overlooking the beautiful sunset, the sky colored in light orange, pink and a hint of purple and not a cloud in sight. Collen couldn't care less about the sunset as he gazed at his boyfriend, admiring his beauty as the colors of the sky shone down on him it seemed, making him perfect.

They had ordered their dinner and had light conversations about work and plans for the weekend since it's a Thursday evening. Collen had planned a small get together for the celebration of their engagement but can cancel if things go wrong. Collen stands up and Xavier wonders where he is going until he walks to Xavier's side, gets down on one knee and Xavier looks down into Collens beautiful hazel eyes, his own brown eyes already tearing up.

"Xavier, the day I met you, my life changed. I thought I was going to be alone for the rest of my life but that changed when you threw the football and it landed at my feet when I was walking in the park, the moment I saw you, I was hooked and everyday since, it's been better than I could possibly imagine. Will you do this poor guy the biggest favor and marry me?" Collen said, taking the ring out of his pocket and opened it up, presenting it to Xavier.

"Yes Collen, I will marry you." Xavier could barely answer through his crying. Collen smiled the biggest smile of his life, placed the ring on Xavier's finger and kissed him with all his love.
