I was on my way back from the shops when...

Omg, that's not him. It can't be and it was.
Stay calm Keo
Keep it cool
"Heeeyyyy" I said
Wow. stealth Keo, I mentally slap myself
"Hey" he says while hugging me
I could stay in his arms for eternity
"Where'd you come from"
"Oh I just wanted some snacks, you?"
" The same thing"
"Ohh" I smile
As he stares at me
"Um well, it was nice seeing you"
"Yeah see you at school"

I carry on walking and let out a breath I was unaware I was holding.
I turn around just to make sure I wasn't day dreaming and there he is looking back at me.

I wave and carry on walking home
And call Lola to update her on what just happened

"Ahhhh" she excitedly screams
" I know, I can't believe it"
"See I think the universe is giving you a sign"
"No, I don't think so"
"Agh, why not?"
"People bump into each other all the time"
"Okay, when last did you bump into any other guy from school?"
I roll my eyes
"That's different, not all guys live a two streets away"
"Why, are you fighting this you know you like him"
"No I don't"
"Mhumm"
"I can't"
"Can't what?"
"Ever see us together, as much as I want to"
"Why not?"
" Because...it would be to unrealistic"
"Unrealistic?? You not believing in this is unrealistic"
"Its not like I haven't been trying"
"Have you?"
"Yes, I hug him way too often compared to other guys, I went out of my comfort zone and spoke to him FIRST. I asked questions and questions like a bloody investigater just to get through to him. I got him a bloody Chocolate for heavens sake! I think I've done enough!"
"Calm down!" She says laughing
"I know! I'm sorry to get to so worked up, I sigh, I just...wish he would give me a sign, so I knew how he felt."

"I mean he did give you a chocolate also and I know you're not the hugging type so he is the one who causes all of those hugs"

"More like pity chocolate, it's like he just felt like he owned me"

" Hey you got the same Hannah Montana CD for your friend Shelby in 4th grade that she got you"
" Oh no, that's different I was 10 years old" I defend
"So are all boys, at least when it comes to this stuff"
I sign in realization we are just going back and forth

"Okay here's the deal, I do like him a lot" I say honestly
"I know" she replies sincerely
"But, I just feel like I'm going down this imaginary "future couple's road" alone, and that honestly scares me"

"It only scares because you like him, and you've never been in a relationship, I get it. But here me out, you have to give it a chance, you never know what could happen"

"You know what, I guess I will" I say convincing myself at the same time

"Yay, it's a pity we can't choose our Mr and Ms dates, if we could I'm sure he'd pick you"
"You think so?"
"Oh honey, with the way he stares at you, I Know so"
We both just laugh

"Okay, listen up contestants. I know you're all excited you made it through auditions but, now it's time to get serious. This is where the hard work comes in"
Mrs Louis the Pagent organizer announces.

I gulp as she goes on and on about all the hidden dreadful figures which we have to take part in as contestants.

"Note, you will also be expected to raise R1500 for the less fortunate, failure to do so will result in disqualification."

Emily and I look at each other
What the hell did we sign up for??

"Now, before you all bring back your forms and tell me you're backing out, we will assist you by finding a restaurant for you to work at to help raise funds. Now grade 10's I realize most of you want to become prefects. This competition plays a big part in what your chances look like. DO NOT DISAPPOINT ME! I will not have people pulling out at the last minute,
I am super excited to work with you guys, as it is my last year as organizer"
