"Soobin's okay, right?" Kai asked.

I nodded my head.

A smile finding its way onto my face.

It felt nice.

Knowing you were okay.

Being able to say that you were okay.

With chest.

No doubts.

"It's so annoying how the school only let you skive. I mean. I'm his friend too." Kai began to rant.

He pouted.

I laughed.

"It's not funny! I was genuinely worried!" Kai whined.

He slapped me playfully.

"I guess it's just one of the perks of having the title of 'Soobin's best friend'." I teased.

"What are the other perks?" Kai asked.

I paused.

"There's no other perks, have you met him?" I joked.

"Wait 'till I tell him you said that." Kai tsked.

I rolled my eyes.

"Wait 'till I tell Tae that you made fun of his height on your private story last night."

Kai widened his eyes.

Instantly shutting up.

As if on cue.

The bell rung.

Signalling the start of a period.

I felt my stomach sink.

We were late.

I watched as Kai ran off to his lesson.

I quickly opened my locker to grab the books I needed.

A flurry of notes fell from my locker onto the floor.

My heart stopped.

Stomach dropped.

Lungs popped.
