Okay, since I watched and loved Vampire Knight, people highly recommended Diabolik Lovers.

Diabolik Lovers is yet another vampire anime. I'm only about 6 episodes in, but I'm already noticing some key differences between the two series despite the fact that people have said they're so similar.

Yes, they ARE similar, but I feel like the similarities are so obvious that I don't really need to talk about them.

1. They're about vampires.

2. All of the vampires are nocturnal.

3. It takes place at a school.

4. Even the uniforms are similar.

Those similarities are way to obvious though.

So let's talk about some differences that I noticed!

Still, keep in mind that I have finished Vampire Knight and I am 6 episodes into Diabolik Lovers, so if I'm asked which show I prefer, as of now I'm going to say Vampire Knight because it's the one I got most into.

Now let's get into this!

1. The vampires in Diabolik Lovers don't care about humans. They see humans as nothing but their prey. These vampires come off as pretty mean at first, and they attack poor Yui on purpose. However, in Vampire Knight, the whole idea is that vampires and humans should coexist and get along. There was even an alternative to blood created so vampires would not have to attack people; blood tablets. It seems the Vampire Knight vampires care about this ideology and want to get along with humans. I'm going to take Ayato from Diabolik Lovers and Zero from Vampire Knight for example. Ayato didn't seem to care much for Yui. He was only desperate to drink her blood, and attacked her a few times to get what he wanted. Zero on the other hand, did everything he could to protect Yuki, and he was forced to restrain himself a number of times so that Yuki would be safe.

Let's compare how the vampires treat humans in both shows, shall we?
