SO I WAS REWATCHING SOME CLIPS AND SONGS FROM THE EQUESTRIA GIRLS MOVIES AND... I NOTICED SOMETHING...
I always knew MLP gave lessons that would supposedly be useful in the real world, but I found a REALLY DEEP lesson today...
So quick trigger warning: this chapter includes the mention of drugs, alcohol, etc., along with the mention of PTSD.
First of all, we live in a world where people think it's cool to drink, smoke, vape, do drugs, and all that shit. They're not cool AT ALL. I do NONE OF THOSE. Why? In the long run, all of those things have the potential to completely ruin your life.
Drinking can turn you into an alcoholic, smoking can cause addiction and lung cancer, vaping is even more likely than smoking to be addicting and cause cancer, and drugs... well... drugs can cause a lot of bad things.
And what's one of the ways these things can be started for an individual? That's right.
Peer pressure.
You can be pressured by your peers to do these things, and it ends up having a negative effect that you'll regret in the future.
While the MLP:EG characters are not seen doing drugs and drinking or anything (it's a kids movie), it portrays this topic a bit differently.
In Friendship Games, Twilight it pressured by her peers to unleash magic that could be potentially dangerous, as shown in this song:
It ends up turning her into this demon thing (Midnight Sparkle) and attacks everybody:
And even when she's become good again, she still regrets it and even has nightmares about it, as shown in Legend of Everfree.
And how did all of this start? Peer pressure.
Peer pressure can lead to a lot of bad things, so don't give into it!! That's the lesson.
The second part though: in Legend of Everfree, Twilight seems to be showing the most common symptoms of PTSD after experiencing the event of Midnight Sparkle. These include:
-Nightmares and unwanted memories of the trauma.
-Avoidance of situations that bring back memories of the trauma.
-Heightened reactions and anxiety.
-Depressed mood.
The nightmare part is obvious, but Twilight also seemed to be avoiding anything that brought back memories of Midnight Sparkle. The heightened reactions and anxiety part are mostly every time Twilight was afraid to use her special abilities for fear of becoming Midnight Sparkle again. And depressed mood? She seemed a little down throughout most of this movie, unless she was around Timber of course.
So there's that about the hidden peer pressure lesson, and my theory of Twilight supposedly having a little bit of PTSD.
This chapter was kinda serious, but hEY, oh well-
