"Hey, Greenie," Newt said cheerily and smiled down at me.

"My name is Lucy," I replied casually, I didn't mean to sound rude but I guess that's just how I sound unless I try to be something else.

"Well, I didn't know that... Greenie." He leaned forward and nudged me when he said 'Greenie' and I glared up at him, I tried my best not to grin but the more I looked at his face the more I wanted to smile so I gave in.

"Oh my god."

"What?"

"You... you smiled." He gasped and held his hand to his chest dramatically.

"Very funny." I rolled my eyes and giggled.

"Come with me, I'll introduce you to a few people." He stepped aside and gestured for me to walk in front of him which I did. I looked back to Archie and mouthed 'talk later' to which he just nodded lazily and walked away.

"Lucy meet Minho, Minho, Lucy." Newt introduced me to a muscly, Asain boy.

"H-hi," I whispered awkwardly.

"So this is the shuck girl that everybody keeps yapping about." He teased, I pressed my lips into a thin line and attempted to just walk away from the situation but was stopped almost instantly by Newt placing his large hands on my shoulders gently.

"And where do ya think you're going, love?" His voice sounded accusing but the smug smirk displayed on his small lips assured me he wasn't being serious.

"I was... going to get a drink." I nodded quickly trying to pull off my lie.

"I'll come with you." He said his goodbyes to Minho and turned to me "Now do you actually want a drink or did you just want to get out of talking that shuck face?"

"I," I began but stopped when I realised he already knew my answer.

"Come on." Newt took my hand and the same shiver as earlier was sent through me. He guided me through a large group of shouting boys but our hands must've lost grip at some point because I backed up into a boy who seemed twice the size of me. I looked up to meet his eyes and saw it was Gally.

"What about you Greenie? You want a round against me." All eyes were on me and I shuffled awkwardly.

"Greenie, Greenie, Greenie." One boy began to chant and the others soon copied. I felt myself being pushed into the middle of the circle.

"I uhh." I began but was soon cut off.

"Rules are simple Greenie, I try to push you out of the circle, you try last more than five seconds." Gally began circling me like a predator and I was his next meal, almost all the boys were snickering to themselves. Then I saw Archie and Newt make their ways to the front of the crowd.

"You're not seriously going to fight a girl, Gally?" Newt exclaimed, I would've been offended by his comment if I was in a different situation.

"It's fine Newt, I can do this." I rolled my shoulders, I think I was trying to convince myself more than I was Newt.

"Oh, so she can form sentences." Each word Gally spat riled me more and more.

"I'll go easy on you since it's your first time, and your a girl." With that he ran towards me, I froze for a second until I ducked under his legs and he fell straight over the top of me, landing on his face with a loud thud. Multiple cheers were heard from the crowd which boosted my confidence slightly.

As Gally stood I could see he was pissed as he sprinted towards me again, I wasn't quick enough to step out of the way this time and I fell straight to the floor with Gally laid on top of me, one of his thighs at either side of my stomach. I tried to wriggle out from under him but he didn't budge.

"Not such a smart ass now are you." He chuckled. I tapped out and he got back up, I gasped loudly as I regained control of my rapid breathing. His comment had annoyed me and I charged towards him.

I ducked and wrapped my arms around his abdomen but he must've expected it so he just flung me to the side like a piece of mud. I don't think he realised how hard he threw me and it took me a moment to not have black spots cloud my vision. A harsh tingle shot through me and the starting place was my cheek, I raised my fingers to touch it but winced instantly. I looked down at my fingers to see small specks of bright, red blood dotted on them like they were a painting.

"What the hell Gally!" Archie shouted. I didn't know the boy had a shout in him.

"What?" He asked, still unaware at how hard I was squinting my eyes. Gally looked over to where I landed and saw me stumble embarrassingly as I stood up.

"Oh klunk," For a moment everyone saw a different side of Gally, a caring side that nobody had ever seen before and he realised this, soon returning to his uncompassionate persona "She shouldn't have done a predictable move." He shrugged.

"How... the hell... was I supposed... to know it's predictable!" I manage to get out between breaths as I regain my composure, Newt was stood beside me and let me use him to steady myself.

"Alright, that's enough fun for one night." Alby butted in and most of the Gladers groaned dramatically but soon headed to bed, I couldn't help but feel a little guilty for ruining the night by getting hurt so easily. Alby turned to me and had a hint of kindness in his eyes.

"You okay Greenie?" He asked softly as if if he spoke any louder I might shatter into a million pieces.

I nodded and began to walk back to the Homestead still with Newt by my side. When we got inside I pointed towards my bed and he walked me over to it.

"That shank needs to learn to not be so heavy-handed." He brought his thumb to my cheek and gently tried wiping the dried blood from my cheek, the warmth of his hand cupping my cheek quickly made the pain disappear.

"It was an accident." I stammered whilst lowering his hand from my cheek.

"Maybe, night Greenie." He grinned comfortingly and I smiled back.

I then realised I didn't have a place to change into my pyjamas so I decide to just change here discreetly, big mistake. I sneakily pulled off my top and shorts to reveal my bra, underwear and bare skin and slipped on a nightshirt that had apparently been in 'The Box' when I came up. It was obviously meant for someone not of my stature as the shirt fell to just below my knees.

What I didn't know what that a couple beds away a curly, brown-haired boy had just had his first remembered encounter with a female's almost bare body.

I flattened out a crease in my shirt and looked up to see Archies wide eyes glued to me, that's when I realised what had happened.

"Archie." I snapped and his mouth immediately shut close and blinked his eyes repeatedly. His wholesomeness made me giggle as I slipped into my bed.

"L- lucy I'm sorry I didn't mean to stare I promise I,"

"Archie," He looked up from the floor and met my eyes "Do you ever not ramble?"

He shook his head and blushed deeply, I laughed as I snuggled deeper into my bed and almost didn't here a hoard of boys stagger into the room. Well I wouldn't have heard them if they weren't cackling like a pack of wild hyenas. I buried my head into my pillow and shut my eyes, trying block out the noise.

"Hey shanks, shut the hell up." I heard Newt's voice call out and he pointed over to me trying to sleep. The boys instantly quietened down and I soon fell asleep after that.
