After washing her face, body and hair she got dressed into her WICKED uniform and headed to the observation room. If anyone asked her she would say she was doing her work but really she was just counting down the hours until she could see A5 again.

Lucy watched the screens lazily, she didn't think she needed to keep an eye on the Gladers as they called themselves. After a couple of hours, she saw Thomas walk into the room. The two had gotten close over the two years spent making The Maze and the girl believed him to be her closest friend, despite A5 of course.

"Hey, Thomas." She beckoned him over to her and he sat down on the chair beside her. She turned away from her work to face him. Thomas had a stupid smile and a blush across his face for whatever random reason.

"Hey, Lu." It seemed everyone had caught onto her childhood nickname given to her by Eric.

"What you doing here, don't you have a subject to be looking after?" She questioned.

"He's sleeping and don't you have a subject as well?" He pressed his lips into a thin line when he saw a frown appear on Lucy's face.

"He's going in 2 days and he has no more tests to do so he doesn't need me anymore." She tried to smile but it didn't work, Thomas' heart broke a bit inside seeing this.

"Oh." Was all Thomas said, Lucy had told him of how close the two had gotten so he could only imagine what was going through her head right now, he couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy whilst thinking about Lucy and A5.

"Yeah, oh." She turned back to the screen, occasionally glancing at the clock and begging for the hours to go quicker.

The time for rest finally came but of course, she didn't sleep. She sat impatiently on the edge of her bed with her eyes not moving from the vent. After 20 minutes she began to get worried, where was he? Unconsciously her leg began bouncing until she heard clattering and grunts come from inside the vent.

Soon she laid eyes on his long blond locks, instantly relaxing.

"Fancy seeing you 'ere." A5 joked as he clambered his way out of the vent.

Lucy only giggled in response whilst helping A5 to his feet. A moment goes by where they're just looking at each other.

"What you been doing today then Lu," A5 asked, he made his way over to her bed and laid flat on his back. Lucy soon joined him.

"Watching The Maze, spoke to Thomas for a bit," She was cut off by a confused look from A5 "What?"

"Who the bloody hell's Thomas?" He questioned, it was clear he was jealous.

"My closest friend, " Lucy had to bite back a smirk as she saw A5 tense up even more "Besides you." She pecked his cheek and his shoulders relaxed, a smile replacing his frown.

"Mhmm." He hummed and they fell into silence. It wasn't awkward at all, they were just enjoying the presence of each other for as long as they could get it. Well, at least it was silent until Lucy broke it.

"A5?" She carried on staring at the ceiling but he turned his head to look at her.

"Yes?"

"You're going to forget me." She said it as if he didn't already know.

"I won't," He tried to convince both Lucy and himself "I'll remember you, I promise I will."

"You won't." She sat up suddenly and crossed her legs on her bed, her body still wasn't facing A5.

"I will." He sat up, grabbing her knees and turned her to face him.

"I know how this thing works and there's no, " She was cut off by a pair of lips on hers, she eased into the kiss and ran her fingers through his fluffy hair. He moved his hands from her knees to her waist as he deepened the kiss.

They pulled back for air and A5 saw a wide grin on Lucy's face. He went back in for another kiss, this time being more forceful and dominant, as he moved her onto her back which she didn't object too. He put his hands at either side of her head and kissed her again, and again. He had no idea where this surge of confidence was coming from, maybe it was the fact that he finally had the opportunity to do the things he had been longing to do for a couple of months.

"A5." She gasped in between passionate kisses but he ignored her.

"A5." She repeated and this time he pulled away and gazed at her, her cheeks were flushed and she had one or two beads of sweat on her forehead.

"Yes?" He asked as he travelled his sweet pecks down to her jaw and onto her neck.

"I love you." This made him stop in his tracks and move his eyes straight to meet with hers. He smiled lovingly, he was about to reply until Lucy flipped him over and straddled him. The boy felt a harsh blush rise in his cheeks and she leaned in and kissed him, a small chuckle left the boy as he smiled into the kiss.

He ran his lanky fingers through her red curls and a moan slipped out of his lips. Her fingers danced up and down his chest but she stopped and played with the collar of his shirt.

They went on like that until they were both gasping for breath as if they'd just ran a marathon. Lucy laid down in her bed and got under the covers, A5 just laid there staring at her.

"Don't you have a room to go back too?" She asked him as she saw that he made no sign of moving.

"Yeah." His confidence left him and he began to make his way to the vent.

"Wait," She exclaimed suddenly and the boy whipped his head to her "Stay."

The pleading look in her eyes softened his heart as he clambered under the covers, he didn't know whether or not to lay near her so he kept himself to the other side of the bed.

"You don't have to stay over there you know." A smirk painted itself on his lips as he scooted over to the significantly smaller girl.

She laid on her side with her back facing the boy, he took the initiative and draped his arm over her waist and pulled her gently into his chest. She had almost fallen asleep until she heard A5 whisper something into her ear.

"I love you too."
