"So why does it matter that I was hugging Janson?" Lucy picked up the subject they were talking about again.

A5 shut his room door and began to speak "Because it's Janson, I didn't think he did hugs."

"Well if you didn't know Janson and I are close so I guess I get hug privileges." She shrugged. A5's previous jealousy returned as she spoke about how they were close, he longed to be close enough with her to be able to hug her. Then an idea popped into his head.

"Why did you hold my hand?" He smirked as her face went a light pink colour.

"You looked like you needed it, and I could tell you needed comforting soo..." She dragged out, A5 mentally debated with himself on whether or not he should carry out his plan. He decided to just do it, what's the worst that could happen?

"You know, only close people hold hands," He began and Lucy looked as confused as ever "So if you and Janson are close and he gets hugs.. can I get hugs?" He looked at her with puppy dog eyes and she tried to hide the wide grin that appeared on her face.

"Maybe." She smirked and small giggle left her lips as she saw A5 tense up and go bright red, clearly he didn't expect her to practically say yes.

"Oh, I uh. O-okay." He stuttered and mentally facepalmed, just go over and hug her! You know you want too, he screamed at himself but his feet still wouldn't budge. She raised her eyebrows at him and smiled sweetly as she walked over to the frozen boy and wrapped her arms around his neck, she had to go on her tip-toes to be able to reach.

It took him a second to process what was happening until he rested his arms around her waist whilst making sure not to put his hands too high or low on her back, however much he wanted too. He squeezed her tightly and she rested her head in the crook of his neck, playing with the collar of his shirt.

They had both been longing for this moment for weeks and it was finally happening, they both desperately wanted to take things further. After a few minutes of just silent swaying from side to side, Lucy pulled away and pecked him on the cheek. She turned to walk out of his room but he followed after her and grabbed her hand gently.

When she swerved around she looked at him with a confused but happy look, she didn't really want to leave. He looked like he was thinking deeply until he kissed her on her cheek just like she had done to him. The blond let his lips linger on Lucy's cheek for a few seconds until he pulled them away and started deeply into her beautiful blue eyes, she felt his soul enter hers as his deep brown eyes gazed lovingly down at her. He gave her hand one last squeeze until he let her go back to her room, and she did just that.

Thankfully their rooms weren't that far apart from each other so it didn't take too long to get there. For the short journey, Lucy couldn't wipe off her stupid smile. She passed Eric's lab and saw him still working so she decided to go speak to him.

As soon as she walked through the door she tried her best to get rid of her grin, she didn't want to have to put up with his relentless teasing if he found out about anything that had happened.

"What do you want dumbass?" He jokingly insulted her as she strolled into his lab for the first time in a while.

"Just thought I'd come to talk to you is that alright Ricky?" She bit back a loud laugh as Eric pursed his lips, she knew how much he hated the nickname she had given him when they were younger.

"Salope stupid, " She rolled his eyes as he spoke in their mother's language, Eric had always been convinced that she didn't know French but what he didn't know what was that she had been teaching herself.

"Tu sais que Je sais ce que tu viens de dire Ricky, " She couldn't hold in her laughter as her brother dramatically looked up at her when she spoke in perfect French.

"Since when did you know French?" His face was a picture and Lucy wished she had a camera so she could capture the moment.

"Since I've been teaching myself." Eric chuckled.

"How you been anyway?"

"I've been good, busy getting A5 ready for his turn." Her face darkened as she remembered she only had a few days until he left her and would forget she even existed, leaving her with all the feelings and memories they had together.

"Hey, it's not as bad as you think it's going to be." Eric dragged Lucy over to the sofa he had and wrapped his arm around her back. She rested her head on his shoulder.

"Mine went last month and we actually became quite good friends, he was subject A9." His voice softened whilst talking about his new and lost friend.

"Is he doing alright, have they figured anything out in The Maze yet?" Her voice filled with curiosity, she desperately wanted them to find something, anything before she was forced to send A5 in there.

"Nothing except not to go in The Maze when it's almost dark. The two boys call themselves Alby and Gally, Gally was mine and I think Alby was Teresa's."

Lucy dug herself deeper into her brother's arms, she wouldn't dare tell anyone but she regretted ever telling Janson about her stupid idea to put the subjects in a maze. She slowly felt herself fall asleep and darkness finally took over, Eric let her sleep for a few minutes until she was sleeping deeply enough for him to carry her and not wake her up. He laid her down in her bed and pulled her covers over her, she unconsciously pulled them further towards her and snuggled into them. It reminded him of when they were little, before the sun flares, before the flare, before WICKED. Back when Lucy hadn't become blind to WICKED's malicious ways.
