John Travolta's pretty sexy." Janet comments as she flips through some tiger beat magazine.

"Agreed, Olivia Newton John is the luckiest girl on earth." I reply while painting one last top coat on my pinky nail. I decided to go with pink today but I think next week I'll do purple.

My friend takes my hand and examines it.

"How do you paint your left hand so neatly? I cant do it without getting at least half the polish on my hand."

I shrug and go back to painting. "Practice, I guess."

She goes back to reading her magazine while I start cleaning up the nail polish.

However, not a lot of time goes by until Janet let's out the loudest sigh I might have ever heard.

"What?" I can't help but laugh at how dramatic my best friend is.

"I'm painfully bored right now. I mean, it's November so it's not like we could go outside even if we wanted to."

"We can do fun things inside too."

"Got any suggestions?" She snaps.

"Geez, I'm just trying to stay joyful, is that really a crime?" I raise an eyebrow at her.

Janet goes to say another sassy remark but she's interrupted by the sound of the wide wooden front door to the house.

A couple muffled voices are heard from downstairs but we're too far to recognize them.

"Let's check who just came home."

I nod and follow right after her, we both land at the end of the staircase and may or may not have started eavesdropping.

"It's going pretty well, we're going to start recording in December." The voice that I've grown to love says.

Janet notices my face of admiration for her brother and nudges me in a playful manner.

I roll my eyes but a small smile slips out unwillingly.

I focus my attention back on Michael and his mother.

"That's great, honey. Are you excited?" Katherine has always had such a warm voice, it was very comforting. She made you feel like you could tell her anything.

"I guess but it's still a long way ahead." I never took in how short Michael's sentences were until now, I barely ever heard him spoke unless he was asked something.

I knew he was a shy person but even towards his own family? There's a lot more I need to learn about Michael, and that's for sure.

"Come on, let's go say hi."

Before I'm able to even object, I'm being pulled into the kitchen by Janet.

I flash a polite smile to both Michael and Katherine.

"Hey mama, we were just upstairs but got bored so we came down here to check on what you two were doing but seems like you aren't doing much anyway."

"We were having a nice talk, something you do too much of." Michael remarks.

"Shut up, applehead." Janet snaps.

I try to control my laughter but a little giggle slips out. And by little, I mean a big laugh left my mouth which lead to Janet laughing, Katherine as well and I swear I even saw Michael chuckle a couple times.
