Chapter 9 - Only You

After a chaotic and depressing day everyone has retired to their own chambers to rest for the night. Donghua has finally woken up again, all he has on his mind is just his Xiaobai. He slowly gets up with all his will power, even though he's still in a lot of pain. He is using all the stone walls in the corridors for his support. He slowly made his way to her room and sat on the floor by the side of her bed. He touches her forehead and moves his hand down the cheek.

"Xiaobai... please wake up... Xiaobai... please don't leave me..." he whispered and took her hand to his cheek. "Xiaobai why did you have to be so stupid again? I said before when I am here with you, you don't need to do anything by yourself." he cries silently with tears flowing down his cheeks.

He magically cut his palm and fed her his blood once again. It's not a few drops this time, it's as much as he can force it out of himself. He rather sacrificed his life to bring her back. He remembers that Fengjiu said once;

Flashback memories...

Donghua was sitting on the bed that he materialized in the snowy Jieyou spring at Fanyin valley while Fengjiu was still standing. She is thinking of a way to leave quickly since she's worried about XiaoYin. As she walks away:

"Aren't you going to take me with you?" he asks. "Why would I do that?" she asks him back. He stares at her and says "I am hurt! Do you want to leave me here alone? Don't you think it's unsafe for me?" "No, I'm not worried at all." she answers him while turning to walk away. He quickly uses his magic and pulls her backwards to sit on the bed as well.

She yells "you..!" Donghua looks at her and says "Looks like you don't feel safe leaving me here." with a smirk. She looks annoyed with him and says "I'm sorry that I failed to tell, that you're hurt, judging from your charming bearing now. She turns her head away, then he tilts his head and gives her a look and nudges his head towards the cut on his arm. She turns back to lift her head towards his arm where the cut is she moves closer then releases a big sigh...

"Legend has it that since Dijun took the throne of Heaven and Earth, you've never shed a drop of blood." she said while looking towards his eyes. Donghua Just replies with his normal "mmmhmm..."

"How lucky is it to me that I get to see the great Dijun you get hurt today?" she teased him. "Have you seen enough?" he asks. "Oooh... the red blood is even mixed with goldenness. Dijun's blood is indeed different. I have heard that if you drink a cup of Dijun's blood it is worth an immortal's cultivations of a thousand years. I wonder if that is true or not... " she teases him and licks her lips like a hungry vampire wondering if it was delicious.

He looked a bit scared and pulled his arm away from this hungry vampire looking fox. "Generally, shouldn't you be thinking of helping me stop the blood first then all those other stuff?" he questions her. "Hey it's not like you only fooled me once or twice, how would I know that this time it is not one of your camouflage tricks? I'm not a fool to fall for it again.

Donghua was laughing at that memory, thinking how funny that it came true. If you add together the blood that he had fed her it was more than four cups by now. "Xiaobai... do you remember that night in Jieyou spring you were teasing me about my blood. Xiaobai... as long as you wake up I can give you all my blood if you want. Please open your eyes... please..." he begs and begs but she still has no response. "PLEASE JUST GET UP! I PROMISES YOU WHATEVER YOU WANT I'LL GIVE YOU! WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO I'LL LET YOU. PLEASE I BEG YOU...." Not long after he just passes out himself beside her with his hand still in her mouth.

In her coma state she could hear everything that he said but can't respond in any way. All she could do was lay there and hear him cry to her. She wants to stop him from feeding her all his blood because she doesn't want anything to happen to him. Tears just fall from her eyes as she was in pain not from her injury but the pain from her heart that she can do anything to stop him from doing stupid things. They are both very stubborn when it comes to each other's life. No one can stop the other half when they want to sacrifice their own life to protect the other. As she said before, "Dijun lives, Fengjiu lives. Dijun dies, Fengjiu dies."

Both of them are connected in all sorts of ways, not even themself knew about it. Every time that they get separated for any reason, they will eventually find each other no matter what happens and where they are.

As time passes her mind is no longer able to focus. Donghua and Fengjiu subconscious were connected at that moment. They were in a dark place where the only light is small stars around. She is just falling down to a never-ending pit and she is so weak that she can't even do anything. Donghua is flying towards her as fast as possible trying to catch her but just like the last time he wasn't able to catch her at all. "XIAOBAI!... XIAOBAI! I'M COMING TO GET YOU!" he shouts. "Donghua... Dong... Hua..." she whispers. Then she just loses her consciousness and just keeps on falling and falling. Her birthmark just disappeared from her forehead and she then disappeared before his eyes. "NOOOOOOOOO... XIAOBAI! XIAOBAI! XIAOBAI!"
