Chapter 22 - I Can Only Be Yours (Version B)

BaiQian quickly arrived at the fox den and was greeted by Migu and no others were around. Everything seems quite fine and peaceful, but as some elders say the calm before the storm. Should there always be someone around looking after her dear niece and Dijun? Migu saw her eyes looking in panic, and worried for something.

"Gugu what is it? Is something wrong?" he asks. "Migu listen carefully, we don't have much time. I need you to get everyone back here immediately including ZhiYan. When they arrive, ask them to put up barriers all around Qingqiu and around the den, the more the better." she explains and Migu quickly acts upon her command.

She walks into Fengjiu's chamber and she quickly casts her barriers upon the room. She walks over to her bed and sits down beside her. She looks at her dear niece's pale face and the only thing that stands out from the icy pale skin is her red phoenix flower birthmark. She smooths her hair out and her eyes start to flood with tears.

"Xiaojiu, why do you have to suffer so much pain? When I was your age I was wild and free from all burden only after when I was taken to Kunlun Mount to train then I started to settle down a bit. Even when I was training I was still causing a lot of trouble until I came back to take over the Eastern land. I shouldn't have been that selfish and passed the throne to you that early. It's gugu's fault." she cries out in guilt.

She walks over to take a look at Dijun, he as usual, looking ice cold and much paler than her niece. To this day she still doesn't understand why her niece had fallen in love with this cold rock that doesn't know anything about romance or love. But who was she to judge when she had once fallen deeply in love with someone that didn't worth her tears. Then Yehua was kind of the same at the beginning like a log, you have to kick it for it to start rolling.

In the matter of time ZhiYan and Zhenzhen arrived first since they were much closer than the others. "Xiaowu what's the matter, what's so urgent?" Zhenzhen asks. "Fourth brother there was a demonic attack in the mortal palace and Yehua thinks it might be a distraction, they might be after Xiaojiu. Have you already cast a barrier over Qingqiu and the den?" she asks.

"Xiaowu we did already as you told Migu. We also did when we entered this room."ZhiYan says. "Good, good."Qianqian let out a sigh of relief. Not long after everyone had returned to the den and stayed guard to the two sleeping ones. No matter if it's true or fake, the fox family will always stick together for their loved ones.

As ChengYu was taking the two young ones to Kunlun Mount, one in each hand. The two youngsters were curious why all of a sudden their guardian allowed them to leave Nine Heaven? They also were secretly smiling at ChengYu after the night of watching the stars. ChengYu still has no clue what is going on in these tiny peanut heads of theirs.

"Auntie ChengYu where are we going?" Gungun asks curiously. "Well we are going to Kunlun Mount, it is famous here and it is the residence of the mighty God of War. He is the good brother and friend of your lord father, Dijun." ChengYu explains.

"Gungun, he is also my uncle. He is father's older twin brother and also mother's master." A'Li explains. "Oh, I never heard father talking about anyone in his life except mother. Everything father says is always about mother!" Gungun explains. "Gungun, your father really loves your mother, that's why everything he talks about is always about your mother. He used to spend all his time alone in TaiChen Palace and hardly goes out unless he needs to. Normally the third prince would visit him and play go with him and that's about it." ChengYu explains.

As they approached the entrance of Kunlun Mount, a disciple comes out and greets them. He was leading them to the cave where MoYuan is secluded. "Master, you have visitors from Nine Heaven." the disciple announces. MoYuan comes walking out the cave entrance while the dough ball runs towards his uncle. "A'Li greets uncle MoYuan!" as he bows. "ChengYu greets MoYuan high god." as she bows. The only one that didn't greet him was just Gungun since she didn't know how to address this man in front of him.
