Chapter 15 - September 3

In the Chang'an, there are many strong families that have someone high-ranked in court. One family under the surname Yin. The head of the family is the first ranked general in the whole country. Yin ZhiDan, a sworn brother of his majesty and his wife Yin-SoJingjing sworn sister of the queen.

It was September 2nd, General Yin was staying late in the palace, accompanying his majesty in multiple rounds of go. In his home just right outside of the palace, news of a chaotic panic was rushed into the place when Madam Yin had just gone into labour. The king quickly told the ZhiDan to return home where his wife will be needing him by her side. Even though all the servants were prepared for this event to unravel at any time.

Before the news of the madam going into labour, the weather was quite nice. Once the madam started to go into labour another big storm fell upon the capital city. It was making it hard for the general to return home as fast as possible. Even summoning the midwife was a super hard task.

Madam Yin was in so much pain all her screaming can be heard in the whole mansion. When the general finally reached home he was drenched from the rain. The steward came running out with umbrellas to greet his master. "General madam has been in labour for a few hours already. The midwife hasn't arrived yet, I think it's this weather causing a lot of trouble." he reports him. "Hurry, send for someone to come, madam can't wait any longer." he orders the steward. He quickly runs over to their chamber but is told to wait outside for the news. At this moment, he doesn't really care about rules or traditions that need to be followed.

He rushed into the chamber, to her side of the bed. He grabs her hand to his face. "Jingjing my dear wife, I am here, everything will be fine. Just bear a bit longer the midwife will be here soon." he speaks very fast in the worried tone.

She grabs hard and tight to his hand panting in pain. "Zhi... Dan... it hurts, very painful! It hurts!!!" "My dear you will be fine soon. I'll be right here, right beside you!" he reassures her.

After two hours have passed, the midwife still hasn't shown up at all. Jingjing's contractions were getting worse. She was hurting so much that she almost rolled off the bed if the general wasn't holding tightly around her shoulder.

A carriage just arrived at the front gate of the mansion, an imperial midwife and physician gets off and runs into the mansion to get to the master's chamber. "General, your majesty has sent over an imperial midwife and physician to assist the madam." the steward announces.

"Greetings to your general." they both let out. "No need, please quickly help my wife. She's been in pain for hours and no one was able to come over to help her." he says with a worried face. "General please, step outside and wait, it's not appropriate for you to be here." the midwife says while pushing him out the door.

ZhiDan was pacing back and forth outside their chamber. As time flies by, the madam has already been in labour for over half a day. It's already the 3rd, in the middle of the night, as the storm is still coming down heavily. The only sound that is coming out of the chamber is the madam's screams. ZhiDan's heart is panicking, beating really fast. While he keeps pacing back and forth he keeps turning his head to stare at the door hoping for some sort of good news to come out.

Long after, a big cry came out from the chamber. ZhiDan let out a sigh of relief and he felt excited. "It's born already! " he lets out. The midwife comes out of the chamber carrying the newborn. "Congratulations general, it's a boy." she said excitedly.

"I have a son! A SON!" he yelled happily. He carries the boy in his arms and walks into the chamber to see his wife. He sits down beside her and shows her their son. "Thank you my dear. Thank you for bringing our son to this world." he said with so much emotions in his eyes. "ZhiDan, what should we name him?" she asked. "LiTing, YinLiTing. What do you think?" he asks her. She nods her head with a big smile "My dear son, LiTing, my XiaoLiTing, you're so adorable and cute."
