Chapter 16 - Let's Sort Things Out

Over at Kunlun Mountain, the old phoenix and the god of war is sitting and drinking tea. "MoYuan, have you ever heard of a prophecy of the one born during chaos with a birthmark on the forehead?" ZheYan asks. "Are you referring to Seventeen's niece, Bai Fengjiu?" he asks him back. "Yes apparently we found out a few days ago.

When Donghua brought her and their daughter back from Bihai Cangling to Qingqiu and there was an ambush on th..." before he was able to finish his words MoYuan interrupted. " DAUGHTER" he says with a really surprised reaction with really wide eyes, almost choking on the tea he was taking a sip from.

"Yes MoYuan you heard it right, a DAUGHTER, if you saw her you will know who she is right away. She has Donghua's silver hair and Fengjiu's birthmark. I never thought that cold old rock would have a family." he mocks with a smirk. "To be honest, I would never have thought that he would blossom either. But let's return to the original topic regarding the prophecy. Where did you hear this from." he asks him.

"So we didn't hear it personally, the Shapeshifting demon lord was talking to Fengjiu far away. Donghua read Fengjiu's memories, that's how he found out. According to what Donghua heard, the one that was born in the time of chaos, that has a birthmark on the forehead, whoever marries her he will be able to become the ruler of all realms. Or if they devour all her blood they will be invincible." ZheYan replies.

"I had never heard of such a thing before, I will have to go search through all the scrolls that Heavenly Father left behind. But if there is such a thing, I'm afraid there might be another chaos unravelling very soon." MoYuan says with a sigh.

"Also there was another incident, Donghua also said it was her heavenly trial... but the strangest thing is there were nine hundred ninety-nine thunderbolts, in all of the history records never existed." ZheYan says. "That is definitely strange, I will look into that as well.

"In that case I will head back to Qingqiu then. After the battle they are both injured very badly. I will come back soon to pay you another visit." he says. They nodded to each other and then ZheYan left.

Over in Nine Heaven, LianSong was working hard looking through all the historical records. There is nothing that he can find regarding the prophecy at all. To him Dijun is like his best friend even if Dijun sometimes teases him or gives him the most deadliest stares. He wants to help his dear friend and also because of ChengYu, she's worried sick for Fengjiu.

ChengYu walks into the historical archive seeing him working so hard and not like his joking self anymore melts her heart. She knows that deep down inside her, she still loves him. But because of their position they are forbidden to love each other. If they both insist on being together, he will just end up like his second brother SangJi. In Nine Heaven, there is nothing called 'true love' especially to those who are born in the royal family. Unless you are actually the one to hold the true power in your own hands like Donghua Dijun or Yehua.

"LianSong, did you find anything?" she asks while walking over with a tray of tea and snack and sits down beside him. "ChengYu, it's you! No there is nothing here that says anything about the prophecy at all. Not even the nine hundred ninety-nine thunderbolts." he sighs.

"LianSong let's take a rest. You have been working too hard, I know your worry for Dijun but still, you need to take care of yourself. Here drink some nourishing tea and I have prepared some of your favourite cakes." she says while passing the tea to his hand.

"ChengYu, you're worried about me? And you still remember what I liked!" he says while feeling touched. "Don't overthink it! I'm just doing this because you're helping Dijun and my friend." she replies harshly at him. "ChengYu, you know how I feel about you. Why can't you just accept me again? I never loved anyone else but you! I know I've hurt you before but I was trying to protect you. After seeing what happened to my second brother and ShaoXin I can't bear to see you going through the same torture either." he says then shed a tear from his eye.
