Chapter 2 - The Twist

"Xiaobai now why would I be jealous of my own DAUGHTER?" He laughed out loud and repeated the word "DAU...GHTER... DAUGHTER!? Did you say DAUGHTER?" he utters his question. Donghua was shocked after repeating what Fengjiu last said. "Gungun is a girl not a boy...? But how is it...? I see him..., how could that be?" he questions Fengjiu in shock.

"I dressed her up as a boy and strictly told her that she is not allowed to reveal her secret identity or else we can't stay in the mortal realm anymore." Fengjiu replies. Donghua is still in shocks and the only word that he could let out was "WHY?" "It's safer for her to play in the mortal realm dress like that, and also I was hiding from my family and you. I was still mad at you at that time and also since we did not end up going through with the wedding, if anyone could recognize me because of her, I would bring shame to Qingqiu and my family.

"But why haven't you told me since you woke up..." he confusingly asks."Well, you see, when I woke up I only saw you and no one else. I didn't know that Xia Guchou brought Gungun to you. When Gungun finally came to look for me, we never had a chance to talk properly. But then seeing you jealous sometimes amused me." then she giggles. "But lately you've been getting out of hands. Fengjiu yells out "Gungun come over here!" while waving her hands. Gungun excitedly replies "Yes Mother!" dashing over to her parents. "Gungun stands still." she waves her hand, peach color sparkling flashes. Gungun's appearance instantly changed; she is now in a red heavily maiden dress and with the same phoenix flower birthmark as her mother. The only thing that still remains the same is her hair, the same silky silver color, just like her father. "Donghua so you see, that is why, she looks exactly like the both of us. My birthmark and your hair. We won't be able to hide from anyone anymore!" she explained. His mind is still incompletely shocked, his mouth dropped open and wide eyes staring blankly at their daughter that was supposed to be a son.

" O...M...G! Why... didn't I... see this... at all? This kind of magic is only supposed to work on mortals and some of the lower ability immortals." he said in shock. As Fengjiu wanted to answer "You were blinded by jealousy", Gungun interrupted and answered "Because father lord you only want to hog mother all to yourself. You don't care about Gungun. I am just a nobody. Just like those other children said back in the mortal realm. They said every child has a father, the only reason I don't have is, father lord doesn't want Gungun... " she pouts and crosses her arms, then tilts her head up high.

Fengjiu pushes Donghua, signalling him to cheer Gungun up. He pulls Gungun close to him and hugs her tightly and patted her on the head. "I am sorry Gungun I didn't mean to hurt you. It's my fault that I wasn't there for you since you were born, but I promise you, from now on I will always be there for you. But still, keep in mind, you did steal your mother away from me and hogged her for the last two hundreds of years or more. Can we call it even? Said with a smirk.

"No! mother is mine! I won't share her with you!" Gungun madly yells out and hugs her mother." "Ok that's enough! If both of you don't listen and play nice together, I don't want either one of you!" Fengjiu jokingly replies. Gungun and Donghua look at each other. They both gathered and whispered to each other "Gungun if you forgive me I will take you to the mortal realm and buy you all the sweets and toys you want!" "Deal! Gungun doesn't want to upset mother, but on top of that I want more!" she demands. "Ok what is it you want more?" he asked. "I want you to love me more! As much as you love mother!" she pouts and whines.

When Donghua sees how much Gungun resembles her mother, it melts his heart. In his mind, he kept thinking.

"So this is how Xiaobai looks like when she was younger. How did I end up so lucky? Having two important girls in my life. To be honest I was a "little" overboard with my jealousy. I'll make it up to her with my whole eternal life until my last breath of my existence. "

"Deal!" he said in an instant. Now both of them teamed up using the same childish act; tugging on sleeves and whining her name to beg for forgiveness. One repeatedly calls "mother" the other repeatedly calls "Xiaobai and my empress"

"Okay Okay Okay! It's either you two are like beans stuck together with molasses or you are oil mixing with water." Fengjiu giggles out.

They both put on the pouty puppy face, Gungun asks "Mother not mad at Gungun?" Then Donghua also asks "Xiaobai not mad at Donghua?" at the same time. Fenjiu answers "I don't have time to stay mad at you both babies. The fish is almost done! So get ready for supper!" she gets up to go set the table. Donghua and Gungun stare at each other and then a quietly high five together. Gungun whispers to her father "Father lord and Gungun should never try to piss off mother... In my whole entire life I've never seen her mad. When mother gets mad it seems like the end of the world!" Donghua whispers, "Oh I know! Trust me, I already seen and been victimized by it."

Fengjiu in her heart was pleased that those two are no longer hating one another. The three of them gather around the table and enjoy their supper. Gungun lets out "Mmmmmm yummy, Mother you're the best!" Donghua replies "I can't agree more, great minds think alike!"
