I groan as I roll over and land on the floor face up. I open my eyes and sigh as I untangle myself from the blankets hold. I put it on the couch and find my way into the kitchen."You're not supposed to be up." Dylan mumbles with his bare back still faced to me "Why not?" I ask slightly offended as I sit at the bar. "I was going to apologoze with breakfast." He says turning to me a slight smirk on his face.
"Yeah?" I ask as I rest my head on my hands. "Yes, I'll admit I was a bit harsh." He replies flipping a peice of bacon. "A bit?" I counter. "Ok, alot." He replies putting some on a plate for me.
"You just can't talk about being dead so lightly. You weren't there when you died. You were gone. You were pale and cold and gone. How would you feel if that was me?" He asks softly setting a plate with bacon and pancakes down in front of me.
My face falls and guilt sets in. "You're right, but what about the cellars?" I ask as I take a bite of bacon.
"I overreacted, you're more than capable," he replies, "and I'm sorry." He says as his eyes hold mine. "I'm sorry too." I say and he kisses my forehead.
"So, I found something." I reply as he sits by me. "What?" He asks. "When I interrogated the twins, I did that memory spell that my mom taught me." I elaborate. "Were they telling the truth?" He asks.
"Did you go and see them?" I ask. He skaes his head no and I sigh. "Yes, sadly, they were." I reply finishing off my bacon. "What happened. "They were attacked by something, not human or wolf." I inform. "What was it." He presses for my answers.
"I'll show you when we are done." I reply and he nods as wolfs down his food. I finish my food and put my dishes in the sink.
I grab his hand and let out a grateful sigh at the connection. He follows me to the library and I open the the book to the page. "This." I tell him as his eyes scan over the page and he snorts. "Thats bullshit." He replies. "Give me your hands." I say and he looks at me skeptically before finally doing so.
I close my eyes and focus and before long we are pulled into the memory. He is able to see me holding onto to the twins hands and then being pulled inside their minds.
He sees the fires, the eyes, the man, the chaos.
I let go as the memory finishes and he looks back at the page and then starts to read the definition. "Of goddess and lycan. Your mom and dad?" He asks. "Yep, I am the immortal hybrid." I say as I let out a breath. "How long have you known about this?" He asks. "I found out yesterday." I tell him and he nods. "We have to tell your mother." He says kissing my head softly and I nod. "I know."
We walk out of the library locking it behind us. "You have to be careful. That thing looked ruthless." He says as we walk into his office. "I'm scared." I say laughing softly as I run a hand through my hair.
"I'll be with you every step of the way." He reassures. "That thing will tear you to peices and I'll be damned if I let you anywhere near that thing." I reply and he lets out a low growl. "I'm the alpha male, your mate, I'm supposed to protect you, not the other way around little dove."
I wrap my arms around him and lean my head on his chest. "I know." I whisper as his arms engulf my and warmth flows through me. "Thank you for not staying mad at me." I mumble.
"I could never." He replies as a knock sounds on the door and I groan as I reluctantly pull away. He pulls me back and wraps an arm around my waist. "Enter." His deep voice booms and I try not to laugh.
"Morning alpha." Nadia peeks her head in. "Can I steal her for a minute?" She asks. His response is prolonged. "For a while." He finally decides. "Thank you." She bows slightly. "Tell Axel to come here when you get the chance." He adds. "Yes alpha." She says smiling as I walk out to her.
"Whats up dude." I nudge her. "We have to go over the stuff I pulled for you wedding day, do you have a date?" She asks.
I laugh and shrug. "We haven't set one yet, but you'll be the first when we do."
She smiles as we walk down to the living room. "Did you sleeo here?" She questions. "Yeah, we had a fight but we're all good." I say as she exmaines the disheveled blankets and pillows on the sofa.
I move them and we sit down. She pulls out a binder packed full of pages. "You did this all in two days?" I ask astonished. "Yes! I love planning things, parties, celebrations, weddings!" She exclaims pushinh a curl out of her face as she opens it.
"What are we going to start with?" I ask her. "Color first, then flowers and venues." She replies. "What about the dress?" I ask. "When you set the date we will talk aboht the dress." She winks and I smile. "Deal." I say and she sticks her hand out, I take it and we shake on it.
"This is going to be so much fun." She says as she flips through her binder. "Tons." I say trying to match her excitement. I should be excited, but what if there's nothing to be excited about.
What if that thing kills me?
