A gasp leaves my lips as I shoot up, my eyes wide and frantic. "Rosie!" I look to see Max and my father sitting beside me.

Sadness is planted in their eyes as Max grips onto my hand softly. My father looks hollow, my heart aches as my eyes meet his blood shot ones.

"Where's Dylan?" I ask softly. "He wasn't here. It's just you." Max explains. "What?" I ask. "You popped in, unconscious, along with a woman who told us.." he trails off as he looks down at his lap. "Excuse me." My father says as a tear falls from his eyes as he leaves the room.

"It's my fault." I whisper as I look down at my lap. "Don't say that." Max says as he places his hand on mine. I pull it away and stand up. "Can't you see?! It was all my fault! She is dead because of me! You lost a sister, my father lost his mate and I lost my mother because she had to save me!" I yell as angry tears roll down my cheeks.

"She chose to kill that goddess! It is no one's fault neice, " He says as he stands up, "I'll call your mate." He mumbles.

I crumple to the floor and take in a shakey breath. I stay like this for who knows how long, staring at the door in a haze.

The door opens and two small children walk in. They stop and look at me curiously. "Who are you?" The boy with dark brown hair asks. "Who are you?" I counter back. "I'm Xavier and this is Daniel." The light haired boy explains. "I'm Rosie." I reply.

These must be the twins.

"You look like our mommy." Daniel says. His bright blue eyes gleam at me as he smiles. "I am your sister." I say with a soft smile. "Really?" Xavier asks as he looks at me with soft green eyes. "Yes." I reply softly as they come closer and sit in front of me. "Why are you crying?" Daniel asks me as he cocks his head to the side.

"She's sad." Xavier says in a duh tone. "How old are you?" I ask them. "Five and a half." They say proudly in unison. "Practically men." I say with a small laugh. They puff their chests out a smile, "mommy says we are closer to being men every day." Daniel says with a proud smile. "She isn't wrong."

"Why haven't we seen you before?" Xavier asks. "I was lost but I have been found." I tell them. For boys only five years old they are quite smart and good with speech.

"Boys. Leave Rosie alone." They jump as they hear our fathers voice. "Sorry daddy." They say together as they get up and wave goodbye playfully pushing each other as they run out the door.

"I haven't told them yet." He tells me as he sits next to me. "I didn't say anything." I reassure. "I know we aren't close, I know I wasn't there for you. I want you to know her death is not your fault." He says as he chokes on his words.

I grab his hand softly. I read that losing a maye is extremly painful. It's as if half of your soul is being ripped away from you. "I'm sorry." I tell him soflty. "The boys, you and Max, are the only things keeping from going mad." He laughs dryly. "I tried to stop them. They made me watch, I couldn't do anything." I whisper softly.

His eyes watch me with an indescribable sadness. He squeezes my hand softly as I rest my head on his shoulder. "You look so much like her." He whispers.

My heart aches as his words reach my ears. "Excuse me your majesty." We both look up to see a curly blonde haired girl standing at the doorway. Her virbrant amber eyes peek at us shyly. "Sophie, how many times I have told you. Blake is fine. Your Max's mate, no need for the formality." He says plastering on a fake smile.

"Blake," she says giving us a smile as her form relaxes, "Max told me to get you and Rosie." She says softly.

"Thank you." He says as he stands up and offers his hand. I grab it and stand up.

"Where is he?" He asks her. "The great hall. No one but yourself and Rosie is allowed to enter, not even me." She says sighing softly.

"Ok. Thank you Sophie." He looks at me with worry.

We make our way out of the large room and my jaw drops. They live in an extravagant castle. The floors are marbled and pristine and the decorations are silver and black. It's beautifully elegant.

"You live in a castle?" I ask. "Being the alpha king has it's perks." He replies forcing another smile.

We make our way down a long stair case and turn down one of the many halls. "Open the door." He orders the gaurds. They open it enough just for us to pass.

"Selene." He growls out as we see the black curly hair of the goddess. She is standing in a pristine white dress that makes her look innocent and kind.

"Blake. Nice to see you again. I'm sorry its under these circumstances. I couldn't leave her there." She says as sadness fills her eyes.

I feel him lean against me slightly and I grip his arm. Our eyes move to the table in the middle of the room.

Max has tears pouring out if his eyes as he sits next to her. "I'm sorry." She whispers as grief fills the room.

"Thank you, leave." He says as his eyes are trained on my mothers still form. She is dressed in a white gown. "She was a goddess, it's only fit to bury her like one." Selene says before vanishing.

Her eyes are closed and her skin is pale. Her hands are placed on her stomach. She looks as if she is sleeping. A sob leaves my father as he puts his weight on me. I help into a chair as tears fall down his cheeks. He strokes her hair as he puts his forehead to hers. "Please come back to me little wolf. Please don't leave me like this. I still need you." He whispers as he caresses her cheek softly.

I look down as a tear falls from my eyes. "Lucy please, I love you." He mumbles as he kisses her cheek. I look at her still form and feel the urge to vomit.

She is dead. She is actually gone.

Watching my father cling to his lifeless mate causes my heart to shatter.

He smoothes her hair back before he angrily punches a nearby pillar and storms out of the room. The door closes with a bang causing me to jump. I leave him be, I can only imagine what he is feeling.

I feel a hand on my shoulder and lean into it. "They sent us back to our birth place. I didn't want to leave you." Dylan mumbles as he wraps his arms around me.

"She's really gone." I whisper as my eyes find her body once more. "I know baby."
