"I still had ten days left." I say as I feel my power course through my veins."Well as you can see, you don't." He tells me.
He circles around me like a predator stalking its prey. Adrenaline rushes through me as heat radiates from his body.
"I heard you defeated a warlock, you must be very powerful." He says as his eyes assess mine.
"I am not naive, I know it won't be that easy to kill you." My tone is stronger than I thought it would be.
"I love the ones that fight, it makes their deaths so much more enjoyable." He mutters as his veins pulse orange.
"So you've mentioned." I look him in the eyes, they are cold and lacking life.
"Manners." He growls out a flame lights up his palm. "Nice trick." I easily mimick his actions as a flame rests in my palm.
He drops the ball of fire causing it to spread quickly in a straight path towards me. I easily extungish it.
"Rosie!" I hear Dylan call out to me. I never take my eyes off Xander. His cold eyes light up, "is this the mate?"
"Go to hell." I growl out as he moves closer his eyes wild with excitement.
"I'll go home when I'm done here." He replies as his eyes flicker over my shoulder. "Dylan go home." I say softly.
"Rosie who is that?" He asks. "I am your mates angel of death." Xander answers in my stead.
"He is the hellhound, please go." I call out to him as my eyes briefly meet his worried ones.
He takes off at a run the other direction. He is going to get my mother.
"Your mate is a coward." Xander growls causing my head to snap towards him. My anger flares causing my nerves to become a live wire.
The gernade in my head, that holds every ounce of vampire, wolf and witch is aching to have the pin pulled.
"I suppose he is." I play along, the lie comes easily. Dylan is smart, not a coward. He knows what he is doing.
He grins as he circles around me, "I wonder." He mumbles.
His claws elongate as a black mist forms around him.
He grows as bones break and rearange to create a monster. The heat gets more intense causing me to stumble back slightly.
He is at least eight feet tall now, his veins glow brighter, his head looks like a wolf, but its not. His teeth are razor sharp and his eyes glow orange.
He lets out a loud growl that shakes the ground. I feel my magic buzz within me, I stop my foot causing the ground to gape open and quickly rush towards him.
I caught him off gaurd, he moves out of the way easily as the ground opens up in front of him.
I see Dylan beside the house, the metal of what I assume is my sword gleams in the light. He has it for me when I need it, that I am grateful for.
The beast drops to all fours and rushes towards me. I push my hands forward creating an invisible wall in front of me. He hits it and flies backwards landing on a tree. It cracks and splinters in half before falling to the forest floor.
He snarls in anger before getting up letting out a breath of fire. I jump out of the way shifting in the process.
My wolf immediately takes control, she is deadly, uncontrollable, which is exactly whay I need right now. The pin has been pulled.
