I notice Dylan staring at me as I help him with some of the pack paper work. "What?" I question as I sign off on a pack member. "When was the last time you've eaten?" He asked. "This morning, with you, we had those pastries." I say in a duh tone as I look at him.
"No, I mean, eaten." He replies. "Oh, I'm not sure, why?" I ask. "You look a bit pale." He says softly.
"Well I am technically dead so..." I trail off and look at him through my lashes. His knuckles turn white and he stands up knocking the chair down as he does. "I'm taking a break." He says roughly as he slams the door behind him as he leaves.
I groan and run a hand through my hair as I lean back in the chair. I look out the window just in time to catch hin shifting mid air before his dark wolf disappears behind the forest line.
I haven't shifted since I was turned, I have no answer as for why though. A knock sounds at the door. "Alpha." A deep voice grunts as a man with sandy blonde hair and green eyes appears. "James." I say as I stand up. "Oh, pardon me Luna, I was just looking for Alpha Dylan." He says giving me a soft smile.
"No worries, he's out for a while, what can I do for you?" I ask sitting back down. He bows his head slightly before walking fully in and sitting in front of me.
"Rogues were captured at the border." He informs me. "Were they taken to the cells?" I ask. "Yes Luna."
"Good, did they say why they were here?" I question. "They say their pack was destroyed, but I think they are lying." He replies. "Take me to them." I say softly as I stand up. "I don't think Alpha would like that." He counters.
"James, take me to the rogues." I order and his head drops. "Yes Luna." He replies opening the door.
We walk about a mile to an abandoned building and open the cellar door. Cells line the walls and I shiver as memories from being down here resurafce.
We stop at a heavy silver door as grabs a pair of gloves. He slips thembon on and opens it to reveal a female and male wolf sitting behind the cold silver bars. They are covered in mud and some blood. "State your names." I say with authority dripping from my voice. They both have dark hair and dark eyes.
"Quinn." Says the male his eyes slowly lifting to meet mine. Bold.
"Marianne." Says the female doing the same. "Relation?" I ask. "Brother and sister." They say in unison. "Why were you on our lands?" I ask. "Our pack was ravished and we had nowhere to go." Marianne informs with sadness laced in her tone.
"Who destroyed your pack?" I ask. "Not a who miss, what. " Quinn says as fear forms in his eyes. "It came out of nowhere. Killed everyone and everything with fire." She says softly as tears form in her eyes.
"Hand." I say and they look at me with confusion and reluctancy. "Give. Me. Your. Hand." I growl out my eyes shifting. They shakily stick their hands through the bar careful not to touch the hellish metal.
I grip both their hands in my own and close my eyes. I focus and draw out my power causing warmth to form in my hands. They start to panic and try pulling away as I start to murmur the right words to the spell.
Their memories engulf my mind. They never seperated throughout the entirety of the attack. "We have to go Quinn, it will kill us if we stay." Marianne whispers as tears stream down her face. They run into the woods as a beast emerges.
Its as tall as the trees with glowing red eyes and embers floating from its body as fire shoots from its palms. Its veins glow orange as it destroys the house in the middle of the burning pack. I could feel their fear, smell what they were smelling and see what they could see. Quinn looks back once more as the beast transforms into a beauty of a man with glowing orange veins that slowly burn out and glowing orange eyes that meet his. He smiles a sinster smile as they flee. I know who he is the moment I see him and my heart races. Impossible
I let go and stumble back my breathing heavy. "You will stay here, in the cells, until further notice." I inform as my hands shake and James looks at me with worry.
"Close the door James." I reply softly.
Their protests are silneced as the door shuts. "Luna?" James asks. "I'm fine." I say as we walk out of the cells.
The fresh air hits me and I notice a shirtless Dylan walking towards me. "You're dismissed James." He growls out as anger radiates from him.
I feel him press me into the side of the old house and I groan as the cold brick hits my back. "What were you thinking! Going into the cells without me?!" He yells as he shakes in anger.
"You must really have a fucking death wish Rosie. You are not only this packs luna but my mate! You can't be reckless, you had no idea who those rogues are or what they wanted. What if it was another situation like that in the woods? Huh!? I thought I lost you once, you were dead, gone, your pulse was nonexistent. Do you know how that made me feel? You can't joke about that kind of stuff." He growls his face close to mine.
I push him off me roughly and growl, "don't talk to me like that! I'm not some defenseless child. I had everything under control. What's your problem?" I ask as anger rushed through me.
I feel my heart break as his face falls and his emotions disappear. "Look, I'm sorry, but I can take care of myself." I mumble. "What about all those times that you couldn't, where you almost died! You should be sorry." He spits out as he walks away running a hand through his hair.
I let his words sink and I feel the tears flow harder. I let out a frustrated scream as I stand up and I hear a loud boom in the distance before cold rain falls on me and lightning strikes in the sky. The wind picks up as I feel myself lose control of my emotions and I put my fist through the wall causing the wall to cave in.
I walk slowly towards the pack house. As my tears stop so does the rain, it's now a slight drizzle. The thunder is soft in the background and the lightning has dissolved.
I was just trying to help.
