The plane lands and soon after we are ushered into a black car. "Whose pack is this exactly?" I ask him as he places gentle kisses on my neck.
"Alpha Lucas." He mumbles as kisses the mark on my neck causing a shiver to run through my spine. "Dylan." I groan softly. He pulls away and smiles at me as he rolls up his sleeves.
"I know, I know." His hand finds my thigh and gives it a soft squeeze. "How far away is the pack?" I ask him softly.
"A couple hours." He repsonds. "Good I can take a nap." I say as I rest my head on his shoulder. He kisses the top of my head softly causing me to smile.
He pulls me closer to him making my head shift to his chest. I am eventually lulled to sleep by the sound of his heart beating.
I feel soft sparks shoot through my forehead and a smile graces my lips as I slowly open my eyes.
"We are here." He says as he gets out. I look at the thick green forest surrounding the house and images of Xander flicker through my mind. I close my eyes tightly and take in a breath before plastering on a fake smile.
He may be dead but his memory isn't. Dylan opens the door for me and I step out. He holds me close and kisses my cheek.
We walk up to the house and knock on the door. "Alpha Lucas, nice to see you again." Dylan says formally. "You as well." He smiles at both of us before leading us to the back of the house. Most of the alphas are seated at a wooden table long enough for fifty people.
It's a cool autumn day, the sun lightly peeks through the gray clouds. Perfect weather for being outdoors. We sit next to each other, Dylan is immediately engaged in conversation with Alpha Thomas and Alpha Perettii.
"I trust your satiated." A deep voice asks from behind me. I frown, "I am Alpha Miles, it's been quite sometime since I've seen you. I am in control." I tell him my tone is sharp.
He smirks and sits down beside me. He rolls up his navy blue sleeves, "good, that means I can sit next to you this time and still keep my life."
"Very funny, pardon me if I don't laugh." I say as I look through the packet Alpha Lucas hands me.
"I am still an Alpha Rosie." He whispers as he flicks open the packet of his own. "I am still a Luna, Luna of the biggest pack in this region, not to mention a hybrid and a descendant of a goddess. Choose your next words carefully, alpha." I whisper lowly as my eyes meet his. "Was that a threat?" He asks his tone sharpening. "No, a simple reminder. I would never cause war over something so trivial as a mans need to dominate a female." I tell him with a sickly sweet grin. He stands and moves to the opposite side of the table.
I smirk at him and cross my legs as zi lean back in the chair. "Hi! I'm Winny!" A bright brown eyed girl with ruby red hair sits down next to me. "Luna Rosie." I say with a smile.
Her smile fades as her eyes hold awe. "You're her!" She says with excitement. "I suppose I am." I mumble.
I set the packet down and look at her. "I'm Zirens mate." She says softly. "He is a good man and even better alpha." I say softly.
Ziren looks at us, well Winny, with eyes full of adoration. His honey blonde hair and blue eyes contrast deeply with his mates but they are a good match.
"Amara is kind too much like you." Winny observes. "Thank you Winny."
"What was it like?" She asks. "What?" I ask as I place my hands in my lap.
"Fighting him." She whispers. "Fighting who? I've fought several hims." I state.
"The hellhound." She clarifies. My smile drops as images of his obsidian claws emmiting posionus vapor clouds my mind. "Not something anyone should have to do."
"Miss Winny." Dylan says. "Ziren is looking for you."
She bids us farewell before hurrying to her mates side. "Thank you." I mumble softly. He grabs my shaking hands and smiles. "He's dead." He whsipers softly. "I know."
He gives me a reassuring smile his hand never leaving mine. "Hi Rosie."
I look up. "Hi Amara." I smile at her. She sits down next to me. "Alpha Peretti has taken my seat. I guess I'm sitting by you! Which is great." She says with a happy smile.
"I agree. You've met Winny?" I ask her. She nods as she frowns, "she is very curious."
"Very." I reply. A banging is heard casuing our heads to snap up. "Let the meeting commence." Alpha Lucas states.
The alphas who are standing sit abruptly as they start talking about census and problems within their packs. They also share new ideas as well as good things that have happened.
"There is a growing threat for every pack here." Ziren says as he clicks his pen. "Rogues." Rufus says with a frown.
"Yes, rogues." Lucas says as he writes something on his paper. "What are rogues?" Winny asks softly.
"Rogues are wolves that have been banished from their pack. Tier two rogues are ones that have abandoned feelings, their eyes are red. Teir three, very rare, but they are ones on the brink of becoming hounds." Ziren explains. "They usually don't get accepted and die a horrendous death by the hands of the god himself." Rufus adds.
Dylans eyes meet mine as does everyone's at the table. Do they expect me to talk about it?
Dylan shakes his head no slightly. I let out a breath of relief as they talk about potential allies and courses of action.
Our little honeymoon has just ended and a new threat is already here. At least this time I won't face it alone.
