"Rosie, this is Balthazar, he is going to help with your vampire side, he is trained to help with the physical things. Your other teacher was just for the knowledge part." She says as I turn around.
A man slightly shorter than Dylan walks up to us. His hair is in a buzz cut and his eyes are a peircing red. His skin is almost as white as paper causing his dark hair and eyes to stand out. "Hello miss Rosie, it's nice to finally meet you." He says bowing slightly. "You're a hybrid so technically you are the strongest, even stronger than the covens leaders. That's why he bows." She whispers.
"It's nice to meet you too." I respond with smile.
"Our time will be very well spent together." He replies and I smile. "I'm sure it will be." I shoot back. I am unsure of training. I was never the strongest in sports or any athletic activity.
"You two have fun." My mother says walking back into the house with her obone against her ear.
"So, where do we start?" I ask him. I look expectedly at him and prepare for the worst
"Changing, you need to learn how to control yourself and also how to use it to your advantage." He says. "How will I-." I'm cut off by him pinning me to the floor. His teeth are elongated and his eyes are a deadly color of black. If I wasn't a vampire I'd be terrified.
"That is how you use it to your advantage. Your strength and your speed is all you need to surprise your enemy." He says getting off me and extending a hand. I take it gratefully and stand up, dusting myself off, then looking back towards him.
"Since you're a hybrid I don't know how strong you are or how fast you are, but considering you are part wolf as well, I can only imagine." He gives me a grin. "Pin me." He says.
I knew the task sounded simple enough but he was more qualified than me and I can only imagine, much older. I ran at him using my speed and I stumble as I see he is no longer there.
He is gone. I focus and the hairs on my arms stand up as I'm covered in goosbumps. I sense him before he comes up behind me. I feel him grip my arms from and attempt to push me down.
I hold my ground and as he pushes my upper half forward I flip him over me and use my speed and strength to pin him to the grass by the neck, before restraining his hands.
He looks shocked but quickly recovers. "Not bad for someone who has had no training in this kind of fighting." He says with a smirk.
I nod andstand up smiling before giving him my hand. "I could feel you behind me before you were even there so I had it all planned out." I reply.
"Another perk I suppose." He replies. I nod and smile. "I suppose it is." I say softly.
"We will do it again until you catch me before I am able to get behind you. Anticipate my moves instead of charging head on. Vampires are smart snd coordinated, wolves just charge forward and pray there strength will save them. We are the opposite, we calculate our opponents." He explains. "Again."
....
I groan softly as I lay flat on the grass. "I thought vampires never got tired." I mumble. "You are a third vampire. You get tired." He says smirking.
"That explains alot." I reply. "We are done for today though, I'll see you again in two days. Don't forget what I taught you." He says.
I nod and smile. "Thank you Balthazar." I reply. He bows before walking back towards the pack house.
I watch the clouds pass by as the sun slowly sets. I can tell from its position that its around five. We had been practicing all day and my body hurt.
The clouds move across the blue sky slowly and I feel my eyes slowly get heavier the more I watch them pass.
"Rosie!" I turn and smile up at my mother. "Mommy!" I run up to her and jump into her open arms. "How is my little rosebud?" She asks kissing the top of my head. "Perfect!" I say as I look into her eyes. "Were you good today?" She asks.
"I got all the spelling words right!" I say proudly causing a grin to form. "Thats great sweetie!" She says as she stand up and grabs my hand softly.
"Let's go tell daddy hi, shall we?" She asks as I nod eagerly and we walk into the house. My mom knocks on a door and we hear a gruff come in.
My father looks up and I notice a look of stress and worry before he quickly hides it and grins. "Hello my little flower." He says as closes his laptop and moves towards me. "Hi daddy!" I say as I run up to him and hug him.
Everything feels right, everything feels at place. The scene starts to shift and my fathers kind eyes are repalced with glowing enraged eyes. A beast stands in front of me now and fear grips my heart.
Smoke emits from its nostrils as it inches closer. The beasts veins glow as a deadly heat comes from jts skin. It's part wolf, part demon. The hellhound.
It starts moving faster as it breaks into a run. I quickly turn and flee from the snarling monster. "DYLAN!" I scream as I feel myself falling down into darkness as the scene shifts again and I'm standing alone in the forest.
Silence surrounds me as fear grips onto me tighter. "I'm coming destined one." I whip my head around to try and find the source of the voice. A man appears, the same one from the twins mind.
"Are you afraid?" He asks his face terribly close to mine, a sinister grin rests on his lips.
I gasp awake shaking and covered in sweat. I look up to the sky and notice the purple and orange hues as the sun starts to finally make its descent.
"Shit." I mumble as my hands shake. "Rosie?" I turn to see Dylan walking towards me. "I think I fell asleep." I say laughing half-heartedly. "I saw." He says as I stand up and he wraps his arms around me. "How?" I ask. "Mate thing." He mumbles kissing the top of my head.
"I'm scared." I mumble. "It's ok to be scared, but you're stronger than anyone I know. You can beat this." He reassures me.
Can I?
