"Hang on baby, we got you." I hear Dylan plead frantically. His voice is distant, merely a whisper.

My body feels so heavy as the wind whips past me and my eyes crack open slightly to see Dylans face creased with lines of worry.

"Go check that house." Dylan growls to someone as he speeds up. My vision fades out once more as my body goes limp.

---

I don't feel anything, my body is completely numb. I open my eyes slowly and struggle to find my breath. The heart monitor beeps erratically filling the room with a picthed sound.

I shakily grab the tube that has been shoved down my throat and rip it out. I take in deep breaths and toss the tube aside as the door opens and doctors rush in.

Dylan follows after, his hair is disheveled and his eyes are bloodshot. His face relaxes when he looks at me.

"Rosie." He whsipers softly. "We really thought you were gone this time Luna." The doctor tells me as checks over my wounds and then takes my vitals. I stare at him with confusion. How did I even get here?

Dylan grips my hand gently and kisses the back of it. "How did you find me?" I croak out. My voice is hoarse and every word sends pain rocketing through my abdomen. "We could faintly smell your scent mixed with chemicals, it was fading fast but then it hit me hard. I followed it until I found you," his eyes glaze over as his face hardens, "you were covered in blood, unconscious, and barely breathing."

I place my hand on his cheek weakly and smile, "you found me though."

The doctor gives me a small cup of water, the cooling liquid soothes my aching throat. "Your stomach and thigh were badly infected, you were poisoned, there were some gashes on your back and arms. We are treating the infections, the gashes are almost  healed and the poison is working its way out of your system. Any normal wolf would already be gone." The doctors tell me.

"We found a woman in the house, she was poisoned, like you. She was also malnourished and we found that she was a missing person from Miles' pack. We treated her and sent her back. She was the betas mate. She had been gone for about a year." Dylan tells me still gripping onto my hand.

"I'm tired." I tell him softly. "Sleep, I'll be here when you wake." I nod my head weakly as I close my eyes.

I can faintly hear screaming as a beeping noise grows distant.

Dylans POV:

We found a woman in the house, she was poisoned, like you. She was also malnourished and we found that she was a missing person from Miles' pack. We treated her and sent her back. She was the betas mate. She had been gone for about a year." I tell her as I grip onto her hand softly, afraid if I let go she will slip away. She weakly squeezes my hand.

"I'm tired." She tells me softly. Her eyes droop and her skin is pale. "Sleep, I'll be here when you wake." I promise her.

Her eyes slowly close as her pulse slows before forming a thin line. My heart stops as my eyes widen. The doctors jump into action as Axel brusts into the room and grips onto me. "Clear!" The doctor yells as Axel pulls my hand away from her now limp one.

The doctor grab a syringe and jabs it into her chest before grabbing the paddles once more. "Come on baby, you promised me, don't leave me." I yell as chaos ensues. "What the hell happened?" I growl out as my eyes find the steady line.

"We don't know, maybe the poison is casuing this." The doctor replies as he grabs another syringe and injects it into her arm.

"Clear!" He yells before shocking her once more causing her body to jolt. I tunr away and see red. She can't die. Not now.

The steady beeping noise is broken uo causing my head to turn to the monitor. Slow lines cause the machine to beep unevenly. I sink to the floor as relief fills me. "She was just talking to me. I just had her." I tell Axel as he slumps to the floor beside. "You still have her. She can't die. I have to thank her." He tells me with a frown. "She killed my mates murderer. She deserves my gratitude." He whispers.

"I'm going to do some tests, we'll figure this out Alpha." He reassures. I nod and run a hand through my hair as worry eats me alive. No one told me having a mate would be this stressful. I was expecting love, kids, easy going duties. Not death and chaos, not worry and unknown. I look up at her face as the insert another breathing tube.

I wouldn't trade her for the world. Better or worse. I would give her my life. I get up off the floor and slump down in the chair beside her bed. I gently take her hand and look at her. She looks so fragile, so broken.

"Hang in there baby, we still have our lives to live. So, if you wouldn't mind, please come to me. I won't take you for granted ever again. We made vows and I plan to stick to them everday. Until I die." I tell her as the machine keeps beeping slowly.

"You and me are forever, so please come back."
