You and Katsuki parted ways as you went to see what the second round of the festival would be.Midnight introduced the next competition as a cavalry battle, teams of two to four would be made, one person would be on top and not allowed to touch the floor, a headband would be tied around the head of the person on top, containing the points they won during the obstacle course. The aim was to steal the headband to gain the points.
It was a chance for those with low points to snatch a top spot. The first four groups would move onto the one on one fights next. You were given fifteen minutes to form your team.
Your eyes scanned your surrounding, looking for reliable teammates. A boy with a lazy smirk sauntered towards you. He had periwinkle coloured eyes and slick blond hair. "You're from class 1-A aren't you? I've got to say I'm not very impressed. I saw you in the obstacle course. You pulled off an extremely risky move." This boy was full of himself. You couldn't stand his taunting glare.
"I'm Neito Monoma from class 1-B, as far as I know...we have a similar quirk." You where shocked. You hadn't met someone who possessed similar abilities to you before, you where almost excited to ask him about it before he cut you off.
"Although it seemed there are a few differences. Your eyes change colour depending on who's quirk you use which definitely isn't stealthy at all, you can only hold a quirk for about two minutes from what I've seen, and only use one at a time. I can only use one at a time, but I can store them, switching at will. I can also use them for five minutes."
He smirked egotistically. "And you have to make direct skin contact, I can use someone's quirk if I've only just touched their hair. So even though we are similar, my quirk is obviously better. Which makes me question. What's so special about you that you got into 1-A? If you ask me...once they see that my copy is better than your 'steal' I'll replace you in the top hero class."
He moved closer to you. You stepped back, a furious fire in your eyes. "I'd watch your spot if I where you. You got lucky before, but you are nothing compared to me." He smiled cockily again before disappearing into a group of other students in his 1-B class. You balled your hands into fists. Who does that asshole think he is. He knows nothing about you or your drive. Sure he observed a lot about your quirk. But you could only improve.
You were almost shaking with rage when a tap on your shoulder caused you to swing around violently. A boy with purple hair and matching eyes looked down at you, he had heavily bagged eyes and a straight toothed smirk.
"You wanna join my team?"
"Who are-"
Just as you started to answer you seemingly lost control of your body.
'what the hell is this?' You thought. You couldn't move at all. "Sorry about this. Brainwashing is my quirk. If you answer one of my questions, I'll be able to control you at will. Now follow me. I'm winning this competition."
'It makes no sense that he'd use me. I had no idea what his quirk was, I suppose I was an easy target with no one around me. But he doesn't even know me, why does he want my power on his team.Damn it I can't move on my own!'
Your vision was fuzzy as you walked behind the boy who said his name was Hitoshi Shinso. You had a hollow expression on your face and your body was slightly stiff. This didn't go unnoticed. As Katsuki was deciding who he wanted on his team he saw you following the boy blindly. "Hey y/n!" He called after you. The purple haired boy turned to look at you, and then at The boy calling your name. He smirked and kept walking.
"What the hell? Couldn't she hear me?"
The cavalry battle started off with a bang. You where holding Shinso's legs along with two other mindless students he had taken over. You where fighting internally, willing yourself to break free from his control.
