Chapter eleven: the fighting continues

It was time for your second fight. This time you where going up against the mysterious Tokoyami. He stared at you with a serious expression. He wanted to win. So did you, bu you didn't know much about his quirk. He had the advantage of being perceptive about your abilities.

You couldn't figure out how to fight against his dark shadow quirk. He had perfect defensive tactics. As the signal to start the battle rang across the stadium. You both stood still, analysing your opponents movements.

"WHAT'S THIS? BOTH TOKOYAMI AND L/N ARE STOOD COMPLETELY STILL! THEY DID HEAR THE START SIREN RIGHT?" Present mic called through the speakers.

You scoffed at his comment. His commentary was quite funny but you had no time to laugh. You started running towards your competition, looking for an opening as he summoned his dark shadow. The bird-like shadow creature hovered between you and your opponent. You skipped up onto your left leg and delivered a shattering blow to the side of dark shadow.

You grunted as your shin came in contact with the creature, it was like kicking a concrete pillar. You stumbled backwards leaning down to rub your bruising shin.

The notebook that Aizawa gave you was filled with expert fighting techniques. But they where no good against dark shadows strength. For them to have any affect they would have to be directly applied to Tokoyami.

You started circling around him as fast as you could to look for any sort of opening as both Tokoyami and dark shadow kept facing you at all time. You slid quickly and dashed in the opposite direction. You saw Tokoyami flinch slightly, looking worried as you jumped at him. One leg foreword and the other bent backwards ready to kick him.

His worried expression was quickly hidden my dark shadow cutting in front of you. You landed, crouched on its hard surface and pushed off. Flipping backwards in the air and landing back of the arena floor.

"Poor Y/n! She can't get anywhere near him with dark shadow around!" Denki mumbled rubbing his hand against the back of his neck.

"I thought that class 1-A was supposed to have impressive students." Is was that Neito Monoma kid. He was egotistically boasting about how much better his quirk was than yours. Deliberately loud enough for class A-1 to hear. The ash-blond gritted his teeth and stood up, about to beat that cockiness out of Monoma.

Denki stepped in front of him with his hands up to calm the explosive boy down. "Bakubro, dude don't let him get to you, let's watch y/n win and prove him wrong!"

Katsuki relaxed slightly as he watched you run towards Tokoyami again. He nodded and slumped back into his chair, tapping his foot with impatience as Monoma kept comparing his 'copy' quirk to your 'quirk stealer'.

You where starting to tire from your relentless attacks on Tokoyami's dark shadow. The sun came out from behind a cloud, causing glare to fall across your vision as you swung another killer punch at the shadow beast. This time instead of it bouncing off, your hand phased through.

Your fist was pushed back out when the sun was hidden by the clouds again. You jumped back a few steps. Your eyes widening in realisation. You almost slapped yourself for not seeing it sooner.

"Crap." Tokoyami murmured to himself.

"What the hell? How come that one got through that time?" Katsuki burst out in surprise leaning over the railing to get a better look.

"Tokoyami's quirk is called dark shadow." Midoriya stated whilst scribbling into his hero notebook. "It gets weaker when the sun comes out." He said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Even though it did seem pretty simple it still pissed Katsuki off. Mainly because it was Midoriya who had told him.
