You woke up suddenly to the sound of violent knocking, Otis was barking and panting loudly in his bed across the room from yours. The knocking continued as you stumbled out from underneath your covers and padded towards your door.
You tugged at the handle weakly as the door swung open. Mina stood there with puffed out cheeks and an annoyed pout, she was poised to start another round of crazy knocking, Otis tried to push his head out of the door as you rubbed your eyes and yawned.
"Y/n! You just woke up? Haven't you seen the time? We're going to be late to class!" She shouted out and jumped around on the spot in frustration of your laziness.
You had only caught on to the situation when you saw her uniform. You were always slow in the morning and for a moment you had forgotten that you even went to school.
"OH SHIT!" you yelled out hoarsely while you dashed back into your room, you skidded around wildly while trying to get dressed, hopping around while you pulled your socks up and trying to do your shirt buttons up with one hand while brushing your hair with the other.
Otis ran around after you excitedly. During class you thought it sensible to let him have free roam of the common room, so you and Mina ran down the several flights of stairs with the husky in hot pursuit.
————————
Practically all of 1-A were in class already when you and Mina rushed in, both panting and crumpled in your seats trying to catch your breath. Looks of confusion and some of playful disappointment were tossed around the room at the both of you. Taking one last deep breath, your heart began to slow down it's rapid beating. Katsuki was looking at you over his shoulder, you were sat on the back of the room but you could still see his shaming expression.
Aizawa slowly trailed in as you stuck your tongue out at Katsuki. He explained that an exam would soon be underway in order for you to earn your provisional hero licence. Everyone was excited to finally be allowed to partake in heroic activities. Even the famous scowling Katsuki showed a grin. It was a demonic one but still progress for him.
You were slightly confused when your home room teacher asked to see you in the staff room during lunch time. The class let out a quiet 'oooOOOooo' at the thought of you being in trouble. You rolled your eyes at them and tried to focus on your work.————————
Once lunch had rolled around there was a whole swarm of butterflies in your stomach. Reasons for you being called to the staff room swirled around in your head while you made your way to your instructed meeting area with your teacher.
You were just about to knock when the door slid open in front of you. Aizawa was giving you an intimidating stare that proved your theory, he was about to give you some bad news.
You were quietly ushered into the room and asked to take a seat next to his desk. The rest of the teachers in the staff room gave you glances of pity which confused you. Aizawa seemed to refuse eye contact with you as he solemnly shuffled together some papers on his desk.
"Sir? What's going on here?" Your voice came out shaky with nerves, it seemed to snap him out of his quiet state as he turned in his chair to face you.
"...we can't allow you to take the hero licence exam..." his tone was gruff and quiet, you could hear a slight hint of sadness hidden behind his monotone voice.
Your eyes fluttered with confusion as you leaned back into your chair, a final look around the room at the teachers confirmed what he had said, even Present Mic was quiet and frowning slightly.
"W-what do you mean? Becoming a hero is the whole reason I'm here sir. What do you mean I can't take the exam?" You started to raise your voice at him, gripping onto the sides of your chair until your knuckles turned white.
