Chapter ten: friend and foe

"FIGHT!"

Mina smiled at you widely before she rushed forewords, throwing acid to the floor and using it to skate towards you like it was an ice rink. You lowered yourself to the ground. Placing a hand onto the ground. You glanced around the arena. Watching the line that Signified 'out of bounds'.

"What is she doing? Mina's heading right for her!" Denki shouted. He craned his neck to see you crouched on the floor.

Katsuki stayed silent, watching your every muscle twitch in reaction to Mina closing in. He knew exactly what you where planning. You where letting her get close so you could take her quirk.

As the pink skinned girl got within a foot of you she began to speed up, hoping to push you out of the ring. You waited for the absolute last second to push yourself away from the spot you where kneeling in. You dashed behind her and grabbed her wrist, taking her quirk.

The whites of your eyes turned black and the previous e/c glow was replaced by yellow sparks. You swung her around by her arm, using all of your strength to slam her into the ground.

She quickly rolled forward and stood back up to face you, you both then went skidding around the arena. Clashing into each other and being pushed backwards by the equal force.

Mina was extremely flexible and had good reflexes, she reacted with fluidity against your attacks. She was able to avoid your counter punches as she tried to push you backwards. She was definitely lighter on her feet but your stamina was holding up well as you both clashed head on.

You ran at each other for another attack, locking fingers and pushing against each other, her feet slid backwards in her own acid for a slight second before she regained her footing. You jumped back away from her. Finally figuring out how to win the is match.

She came running at you again, you dodged to the left and began running along the outside of the arena dragging your hand along the floor as you kept low to the ground, releasing acid behind you.

She followed you, using the path you where making to speed towards you, skidding around the corners. Before long you had spiralled all the way from the outside to the centre of the arena, covering the whole area with Minas acid. You rubbed your aching wrists as you skating towards her again. Your eyes where still black and bright yellow as you two slid around in unison, your shoes where completely melted away from the acid.

"LOOK AT THE SPEED OF THESE TWO! THESE GIRLS ARE GOING HEAD TO HEAD WITH THE SKILL OF ICE SKATERS ON THAT SLIPPERY ACIDIC SURFACE! I WONDER WHAT L/N HAS PLANNED FOR HER PINK COMPETITOR?" Present mic blasted through the speakers.

You both stood panting at each other from opposite sides of the ring. Time to put your plan into action.

You started racing towards her, she did the same. All of class 1-A stood from their seats to see what was about to happen.

'At this speed she won't be able to stop! All I have to do is sike her out and let her slide right past me and out of bounds.' You thought as you both continued towards each other.
She held her fist back ready to throw a right hook your way, you bought your arms up in defence as she got close, both of you running at full speed.

Just as she swung at you, you dropped to your knees skidding right underneath her outstretched arm. You dropped her quirk, your eyes returning to normal as you swivelled around and dug your hands into the acid to try and slow yourself down, she also tried to put the breaks on but fell and started spinning on her side to the edge of the ring.

Your hands, feet and knees where burning from the acid as you came closer to the edge of the ring. You used all of your strength to push yourself up into the air with a grunt.
