Some 2 years ago, summer
In central Kyoto

After a long day working at Manga Museum, she decided to take a break at the nearby park on her way home. She had fallen in love with Kyoto. 'Can I stay here permanently? This way, I can be freed from the past.' Her sketch book was with her.

As she doodled, her thoughts went million different ways. For the past few months, she had taught herself how to draw manga comic. It had been exhilarating.

An hour passed. Suddenly, she realized. She gasped. Staring at her on a sketched composition was that Dragonball guy she had met twice. He had become her muse unconsciously! Why didn't she draw the other instead?

She closed her sketch book and stood up, afraid of what might be in her heart.

Some certain boys were now playing at the nearby basketball court and she was drawn by the sound. She stood from afar and watched them play.

Her gaze was drawn to the tallest boy among all. 'He is good.' How he casually dribbled the ball with ease and scored a few shots easily was impressive. As he turned to give high five to his team members, she froze. That smile again. Her face flushed.

Just then, a petite girl came running to the court and he smiled at her. They chatted and walked off the court together, with her arm clinging around his. 'He has a girlfriend.' Her heart tugged. Why did she feel disappointed? She did not even know his name.

She opened her book again and started sketching mindlessly. When she was finally done, she stared at the big-eyed girl who looked heartbroken as she watched the boy character hugged another girl.

Shen Yue stood in the garden of the hospital, waiting. She put extra make-up today to cover her eye bags and pale skin.

Passers-by glanced at her and smiled as she nodded back. Perhaps it was not a good idea to meet him openly like this. Someone might recognized her.
