Xander's pissed. How dare they?
How dare they touch his mate?
At 21, Xander was mateless. It was a disgrace, not that his family cared. Xander didn't really give a shit either. All he needed was alcohol and girls.
So why was he so mad when he saw his mate held down by a man?
Why did he even care?
He was just a human boy.
Why was he so turned on by the tear stained face of his mate?
Why?
Abused and in pain, Morris Kingsley found peace in music. He sang and he played the piano, beautifully, gracefully.
His dad passed when he was 15 and his mother remarried when he was 18. The man his mother married? He was an abuser.
Morris's mom is almost never home, she was an angel who worked tirelessly in her company for days, weeks and even months. She never knew what was going on at home, and Morris never ever wanted to tell her.
He didn't want to burden her.
He didn't want to burden anybody.
So why did Xander made him want to open up?
Why did he feel safe in the arms of Satan's son?
Bearing the scars of an abusive step-father, love was a foreign thing to Morris after his father died.
Maybe with Xander, he'd learn to love again.
