Blue and green shards shattered around you as you out your sword away. You killed eight plant-like monsters that ambushed you in a forest on floor 11. Your head hung low as you started walking back to town by yourself.
Your stomach rumbled. I haven't eaten since this morning. You sighed and looked up at the star-filled sky. "Never gets old." You said to yourself and continued to walk to town.
As you arrived, you recieved a message from Argo, the infobroker. She said she had some information that you thought you'd like. You furrowed your eyebrows in slight annoyance because you didn't plan on doing anything else tonight but eat and go to bed. Lost in your thoughts, yoh suddenly bumped into someone. "S-orry." You said, shocked. You hadn't expected anyone to be in your way. "It's okay, y/n." Huh? You looked up, surprised the person knew your name. "K-Klein?!" You said, stepping back with one foot. "Hey, you remember me! How've you been lately?" Klein said, a hand on his hip and another behind his head. "Good, but I don't have a lot of time to catch up right now." You said, annoyed as you thought of Argo. "Ah, okay. How about we meet up tomorrow then?" He said, smiling with his teeth. You looked up at him, debating whether or not you should speak to him after the three of you separated. You sighed in defeat. The thought of taking a break from fighting sounded great. "Fine." You said. "Great, I'll message you later." You walked off and waved.
Walking infront of an inn, you met up with Argo. He ears twitched as she saw you. "Sup, y/n. How ya doin'?" She asked with a smirk. You scoffed. "Well, I didn't plan in doing anything today." "Such a beautiful day, am I right, y/n? I wonder if-" Argo blabbered on but you stopped her, getting even more irritated. "What information did you have for me?" You said, a vein popping out of your forehead. "Well," Argo started. Her facial expression changed into a serious on along with her tone of voice. "There's a dungeon that a couple players found earlier today. They found a secret room with a chest in the middle of it. All but one player went inside... But none came out. The one player that didn't go inside was the only one of his friends to survive." She explained. Your face turned worried as you pitied the man. He was alone now, all his friends died and he couldn't even be there beside them. Argo snapped you out of your thoughts. "What level were those players?" You asked. "Wh- You're not thinking about going in there by yourself, right?!" Argo asked surprised. "Well?" You asked, growing hungrier by the minute.
You paid Argo and peeked inside of a restaurant to see how many people were there. Your heart stopped. You saw Kirito with a bunch of people surrounding a large table. You debated whether or not you should go inside, but you were so hungry. Screw it. Before walking in, you equipped a black hooded cloak that hid your eyes and part of your face. You walked in, nervous. You felt a pair of eyes on you as you took a seat at a single table. Kirito was laughing and smiling with the others. You couldn't help but eavsdrop. "So, Kirito... What do you say you join our guild?" A boy spoke. You froze, clutching your glass of water. He's not REALLY thinking about joining a guild, right? I mean, abandoned me to go solo. You thought to yourself. You didn't hear his voice for a few seconds until he finally spoke up. "Sure, why not?" Kirito said, giving everyone an awkward smile. You almost slammed your hands on the table but stopped yourself as you knew it would draw attention towards you. You quickly ate your food and left the restaurant and towards the inn. Kirito glanced at you, rushing towards the exit. Who was that? Kirito thought. Something was familliar about you but he couldn't put his finger on it. He brushed it off and continued to chat with his new guild.
You were angry. Why'd he do that? We could've just teammed up. He said I was strong. Did he think I wasn't strong enough for him? You sighed and tried to calm down. Sitting on the staircase of the inn, you were bored. That anger gave you adrenaline, awakening you. As you sat down on the staircase, you decided to take a walk and fight some monsters. You took off your cloak and walked towards the nearest fighting grounds.
Walking silently along a path, you heard swords and monsters. As you focused your vision further down the path, you saw a famillar red figure. Actually, you saw a lot of red figures. You decided to approach slowly, gripping the sword on your back only to find out that it was Klein. You sighed as you saw his idiotic face. "Hey Klein." You said, crossing your arms. "Y-y/n? What're you doing out so late? I thought you were heading towards an inn?" He asked confused and shocked. "I'm not tired anymore." You said plainly. Your eyes averted from his as you looked at a group of samurais that seemed to be staring at you and Klein. "Whats up with the group of strawberries?" you said with a straight face. Klein wrapped his arm around your neck and pointed at the group. "This our guild. I'm their leader." He said that last part as if trying to impress you. You chuckled lightly. "You became a leader of a guild?" Klein looked at you with hurtful eyes. "Jeez, y/n. So mean." He pouted, crossing his arms and forming his lips like a duck. "I was joking." You giggled at his child-like persona and patted his back lightly. I missed this giant baby. You admitted to yourself. You looked over to Klein's guild. "He's a great guy. I bet he's a good leader." You said, giving everyone a small grin. Klein blushed at your kind words. "Awww, thanks y/nnnnn." Klein said, squishing your face. You punched him in the stomach and he groaned in pain. "He is a giant baby though." You added, causing the guild to laugh and snicker. "H-hey!" Klein yelled.
You, Klein, and the guild were chatting and talking about everything that's been going, laughing, joking, and having a good time. Suddenly, you heard footsteps walking down the hill you guys were walking by. "Sh." You said. Everyone stopped walking and talking, making their breathing silent. You looked up the hill and gasped. Kirito was walking towards you guys. "Shit. I gotta go Klein, message me anytime. You guys too." You said. You quickly put on your cloak and sprinted away towards the nearest inn. What was that? Klein thought to yourself.
He looked towards the direction you were looking at and saw Kirito. "Hey, Kirito! Is that you?!" Klein yelled. "I'll be back, guys." He said to his guild. Klein expected the same excitment to come from Kirito, only to be disappointed. "Oh... Hey Klein." Kirito said awkwardly. "How've ya been? Wait... Are you in a guild?" Klein said, shocked. "Yea... See ya around." Kirito said, walking off. "Jeez, is it still botherin' ya?" Klein said to himself and headed towards his guild.
I saw that person again. Who is that? I should've asked Klein... Kirito said to himself, furrowing his eyebrows.
