chapter five : something scary.

I woke up. I looked over at my clock and it was 9 in the morning. I just watched TV with mom until about 8 pm. Then we had food and watched more TV till it was 11 pm. Then we went to bed. I was on my phone till 4 am, so I'm surprised that I woke up at 9 am.

I sat up to see Basil at the foot of my bed. She was laying upside down with her legs in the air. I chuckled. My chuckle woke her up and she ran to my torso and started scratching at my chest because she couldn't reach my face. I picked her up and she started to lick my face.

" I love having a dog " I spoke to myself. I knew I was home alone because my mom was at one of her two jobs. Whenever I try and tell her I'm going to get a job so I can help her, she lectures me saying I'm in my teens and I should be enjoying myself. I don't get why she won't let me help her.

I put Basil back to the foot of my bed, and I got up, flopping the blanket back on my bed. It was Saturday, so thankfully I wouldn't be late for school. Because I had none today. But I did have plans with Luke and Hestia in an hour. 

I looked in the mirror to see the scratches Basil put on my chest. I have really sensitive skin so if I get a scratch it sticks out. 

" Should I shower-? " I spoke to myself. I looked at Basil and she was just staring at me. " Yeah I should. "

I picked up Basil and put her in my living room. We have a dog bed my aunt gave us so I let Basil nap there. I went to my room and grabbed light gray sweat pants, and a white t-shirt. I walked to the bathroom, turned on my shower speaker and took a shower well listening to music. Luke always thought I was crazy because I shower in cold water. I started it to try and save warm water but it actually feels better than warm water. It helps me wake up.

After my shower I got dressed and put in my contacts. I have glasses, but when I put them on I look like that nerd that knows everything and everyone hates him in animes. So I prefer contacts. I got out of the bathroom. Basil was still sleeping in her bed. I knew I had plans but I couldn't leave Basil alone for half the day, could I take her into the mall-?

I took out my phone to see three missed calls from Hestia, and two missed calls from Luke.

" Oh frick. " I dialed up Hestia's number.

" Oh finally! We've been trying to get you for what feels like hours! " Hestia spoke through the phone.

" Sorry, I woke up and then I showered I must've had my phone on silent. " I answered.

" We can't go upstairs to your apartment. " Luke said through the phone. Hestia must have had it on speaker.

" I'll let you guys up because I can't go anywhere. I can hang in my apartment though. " I answered.

" What? Why? " Hestia asked confused.

" Just come up, I'll call you guys in. " I smiled. I hung up, and then called the front desk at our apartment.

" Hello Hills. What do you need. " spoke the other line.

" Hey hey, uhm my friends Hamilton, Hestia and Howler, Luke are down there. can you let them up to my apartment-? " I asked.

" Of course Hills. " Front desk didn't hang up. " Are you two Hamilton, Hestia and Howler, Luke? " 

I could hear mumbles but I assumed that was Hestia and Luke saying yes.

" They'll be right up Hills. " Front desk spoke.

" Thank you " I hung up. I walked up to my door and unlocked it.

I put my phone into my pocket and I went into my kitchen and got mochi out of my fridge. One of my moms jobs is a candy shop. And they sell mochi there. They give my mom two free tins of mochi a week. So we always have mochi in the house. This week we got green tea mochi. Personally my favourite. I put the mochi in the tin onto a plate, and then put it on the coffee table in front of our couch. I'm surprised I didn't wake up Basil. As I just put the mochi plate down there was a knock at my door.

" It's open! " I called out. I sat down beside Basil's dog bed, she woke up in a start and jumped into my lap. Hestia opened the door and walked in, Luke following her.

" You took so long man! " Hestia spoke. She looked around a bit and back at me. Luke did the same.

Hestia was wearing dark gray ripped jeans, and a black t-shirt tucked into her jeans. With black sneakers. Luke was still wearing his spare clean clothing Easdale gave him. Which was just a white Taiyo sweater, same design as my shirt from earlier. And blue jeans. He was wearing white sneakers. They both took off their shoes at the door and put on a pair of slippers. Because we don't wear shoes in our apartment. Just helps keep it clean.

" Welcome to my cave " I smiled, petting Basil. But the coffee table was blocking their view.

" What are you petting-? " Luke asked.

" The reason I couldn't leave the apartment. " I let Basil onto the ground and she ran to them. "Meet Basil. "

Luke closed the door so she didn't run out. Hestia and Luke automatically started petting her.

" Oh my god not going to the mall just to see you was worth it. " Hestia laughed, playing with Basil.

" I know right " I chuckled.

" I was talking to your dog " She answered, still playing with Basil.

" Ouch " I smiled. I stood up. " There's mochi if you guys want some. "

" YES. " Hestia spoke loudly. She picked up Basil and walked over the couch. She sat down and took a mochi. She ate it well hugging Basil. Basil just fell asleep on Hestia's chest.

" She loves you Hestia " Luke chuckled. He sat down on the couch too. So did I.

" Basil loves everyone " I laughed. 

After an hour of just hanging out. Mostly that thing where someone says something funny, and you all laugh, and you keep adding on to the point where you cant breathe. Yeah, that happened. 

Luke's phone dinged.

" One- One second. " He could barely talk he was laughing so hard. But when he looked at his phone it went from smiling to scared. " What the hell!? "

" What-? " Hestia asked, Basil still sleeping on her chest.

Luke grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. It went straight to a drama show about family.

" What channel is the news on your TV " Luke panicked.

" Uh, 807 I think. " I was confused on Luke was so panicked. Luke changed it to the news.

" We don't know why she went against her own team. But over 70% of fantasies on the Tsuki side are terribly hurt. about 146 have passed. " The news anchor said. The photo behind him was a blurred photo of a familiar hero costume. that wasn't even a costume.

" Its the girl that broke my leg and face! " Luke spoke.

" She turned!? that quick!? " Hestia looked shocked.

I was speechless.

" What she do to cause that? " Hestia looked at Luke.

" I think they already said that, but my mom texted me to look at the news. I'll search it up though. " Luke spoke.

" It's only been a day since she was announced part of Tsuki. I wonder what happened to make her turn. " I finally spoke.

" You think she could be joining Taiyo? " Hestia asked.

" Well I've never really met anyone who isn't on a side. " I answered.

" Hero Kat sent over 70% of Tsuki members to hospital after uncalled for attack. About just a day ago she was announced apart of Tsuki. Member Wolfe Amelia, also known as Death Sphere, says 'She seemed so wanted to be with us. I don't understand why she turned like that'. They were in middle of attack with some Taiyo members. One member said Hero Kat stood there for a minute just looking into the forest, than turned around facing her team members, to blasted all of them with what looks like a whole mix of abilities. " Luke read from his phone.

" I thought her ability was flying-? " Hestia looked at Luke confused.

" Same. That's weird. " Luke replied.

" I know its rare but maybe she has several abilities? " I asked.

" Maybe. " Hestia looked back as Basil and took another mochi.
