chapter twelve : things turned

Takahashi got into the drivers seat and started driving toward Taiyo again. The whole bus was very quiet. People were still talking, but not as much and more like whispering.

" Did I really dis-lighten the mood that much? " Takahashi spoke. " Come on guys I'm not mad. "

Everyone, and I mean everyone gave a loud sigh of relief. Even Easdale.

" Oh wow. " Takahashi chuckled.

I don't think he's aware of how scary he is sometimes. The bus got louder though. People started talking normally again.

" How many more times do you guys think we'll have to try and attack Kat to get her on our side? " Hestia asked.

" Uhm, I'll probably have to say a lot. She's really powerful and would benefit Taiyo. " Luke explained. He was still sitting on the floor. " She just doesn't like us right now. And won't for a while. "

" Right, and Carter you can't pretend what happened when Luke and I went after her didn't happen. " Hestia chuckled.

" Huh-? " I was confused.

" She looked you in the eyes. You looked away. Then she said she noticed something. " Hestia looked up at me. " Do you guys know each other? "

" I don't think I know her. Maybe she seen me before. I don't know. " I smiled.

" Imagine if her hero name was Kat, but she was actually Annabelle. " Luke laughed.

" Ew. Please no. " I chuckled.

" God. I always hated Annabelle. She's a gardening tool. " Hestia spoke again. Laying down in her seat, staring at the roof.

" You mean a hoe-? " Luke asked.

" Correct. " Hestia smiled. " She's very rude. "

" Yeah. Didn't she throw a knife at you Carter-? " Luke looked up to my face.

" Yep. " I looked back.

Annabelle was my ex. We broke up when I went to Taiyo and she went to Tsuki. She's also known, as Amelia's twin sister..

Yes. I dated Amelia's twin sister. 

She was very abusive, psycho. And there have been multiple times where she has almost had me killed. Relationship lasted a year. She for some reason has been, "on break" from Tsuki. So I haven't mentioned her, but she still really wants me back. And I do not know why.

" That's one of many reasons we hate her. " Hestia commented.

" Yes. Very. " I chuckled.

We finally pulled into the parking lot of Taiyo. I was tired. I still had a tiny piece of web on my face Luke had to pull off. It hurt. Everyone was tired from getting beat up by Kat. Takahashi and Easdale were lucky. We all followed Takahashi and Easdale to our homeroom classroom.

" I don't wanna do this anymore. " Hestia sighed, walking up the stairs.

" I understand Kat would be amazing to have in Taiyo because of how powerful she is. But we sound like try hands, not gonna lie. " Luke sounded annoyed.

I cant really blame them for having a hate toward the mission. Kat didn't seem like she wanted to be with us. If she did she would have registered for Taiyo herself. 

We walked back into class. No one was sitting in their assigned seats except for a few people. Like Luke and I were in our seats. Except since Hestia's desk across the room, she's sitting on the window rail beside my desk. There's a shelf along the wall where the windows are, and that's what I mean by window rail.

" Alright. New plans for getting Hero Kat. All of us being involved this time. Because she can obviously beat us in groups of two. " Takahashi looked tired. His eye bags darker then usual.

Crunch.

" Uhm, any ideas- "

Crunch.

" Anyone-? "

Crunch.

" Alright who is eating in the class. " Takahashi was smiling.

The whole class starting doing a chant well banging on their desks lightly.

" Takahashi Snatch! Takahashi Snatch! Takahashi Snatch! " 

A bag of chips teleported into Takahashi's hands.

" Culprit, Howler. " Takahashi smiled. " Thanks for the chips. "

" Rude. " Luke chuckled.

" Why did you bring them to class if you knew Takahashi is our teacher. " Hestia looked at him in confusement.

" I was hungry. " Luke smiled, he looked like he could cry. Either from laughter or the fact he was hungry.

" You can have the crumbs when I'm done. " Takahashi continued to eat the chips and describe the plan. The class laughed at his joke.

I kinda felt sorry for Luke.

" Everyone will need their hero costumes for this one. And I know I keep counting on Zero twins but after we're done, you guys erase civilians minds. Alright? Unless we can somehow get Hero Kat into the Taiyo part of the city. Which I don't think will be happening. " Takahashi explained, still eating Luke's chips. " Right now or tomorrow. "

" TOMORROW. " Yelled the whole class. Even Luke, Hestia and I.

" You guys are party poopers. " Takahashi sighed. " See you problem children tomorrow, and thanks for the chips Howler. "

" Oh funny. " Luke got out of his desk, and gestured for Hestia and I to come.

I got out of my desk and Hestia got of the window rail. We followed Luke into the hallway. The rest of the class was leaving too but we were all behind.

" Wait, Hills stay back. Howler and Hamilton can stay and wait if they wish. " Takahashi spoke as he threw the empty bag into the trash and wrote P.L.O. on the white board. Meaning 'please leave on'.

" Uhm. Okay-? " I walked back into class. Hestia and Luke standing behind me to wait.

" Do you know anything about Hero Kat-? " Takahashi asked, He sat down in his chair. He's about 7'0 ft so he has to sit pretty far from his desk just to have some leg room.

" I don't. " I continued. 

" She has to know something about you then. I remember when I was pulling her off of Howler she looked at you, and said she noticed something. Does she sound or look any familiar to you? " Takahashi asked. Making eye contact with me.

" I mean, if I think about it. Kind of.. But I wouldn't be able to put my finger on it. " I answered.

And it was true. The replay of her voice playing in my mind sounded familiar. Like I knew her. But I couldn't place my finger on it. Like it was at the tip of my tongue. I couldn't think. Do I actually know her-? Was Hestia right-?
