chapter eight : failed

" I'll park over here and let Howler and Hamilton out. You guys go try and get her by flirting. " Takahashi opened the bus doors.

Kat was wearing a white t-shirt tucked into her ripped baby blue jeans. she was wearing black sneakers. She also was wearing a white beanie. She didn't have her mask on though. 

" Its go time. " Hestia got up and walked out, I stood up to let Luke out and then I sat back down again. I just watched. So did everyone else. Hestia and Luke started walking behind Kat.

" Well looky here, what do we have. " Luke smirked behind her. It was hard not breaking out in laughter just watching this if I were completely honest. Because right after he said that Kat elbowed him in the stomach.

" Come on pretty thing, lighten up. " Hestia chuckled. I still wanted to laugh but I was trying my best to not do that.

" No thank you. " Kat continued walking. Takahashi drove the bus about 10 meters forward. But we could still hear and see the others.

" Come on, give us a smile. " Luke continued.

Kat finally turned around to face them. She pulled up her sleeve and put her hand in a fist. She showed Hestia and Luke.

" See this? What is it? " Kat pointed to her first.

" A fist-? " Luke said confusingly.

" What do you think I'm going to do with it? " Kat smiled.

" Stop making a fist and hold my hand. " Hestia chuckled.

" Close, the answer is actually this. " Kat stopped smiling and started beating the hell out of Luke, Hestia tried pulling Kat off, but Kat just punched Hestia in the eye. Giving Hestia a black eye.

" T-Takahashi! " A dude from our class yelled.

" HUH- I'm awake, whats up! " Takahashi yelled back.

" You fell asleep!? " The dude yelled back, I finally broke. I couldn't hold it in any longer. I started laughing so hard and everyone looked at me like I was crazy.

" Whats so funny Hills? " Takahashi asked me, he turned to face me.

" Th-That. " I pointed at Kat beating Luke up. Hestia started recording it.

" Oh my god. " Takahashi finally saw.

Takahashi ran out of the bus. I didn't notice till now he was wearing a bus driver uniform.

" Excuse me miss! Get off the poor boy! " Takahashi pulled her off Luke. And Hestia helped Luke stand up. Kat looked up at the bus and make eye contact with me. I looked away almost right away but she kept looking. " Are you okay miss-? "

" Yeah. " Kat answered, still looking at me. " I just noticed something. " 

She stopped looking at me and she walked away. Her knuckled were covered in Luke's blood. She also had a nose bleed from Luke trying to protect himself.  Takahashi took Luke back into the bus, and Hestia followed.

" First of all, why didn't you guys wake me up when Kat started hurting him? " Takahashi put Luke in the seat Hestia was in.

" You weren't supposed to be sleeping on mission Takahashi. " Hestia smiled.

" Shush, anyways. Hestia you're getting ten weeks detention for not saving Howler, but for recording him getting beat up. " Takahashi made eye contact with Hestia.

" Fine. " Hestia sat beside me, and went on her phone.

" Does anyone have a phone I can use, I need to call Easdale. " Takahashi asked everyone.

" Oh I'll just call her. " Hestia spoke.

" You have her number-? " Takahashi looked at Hestia in confusion. Hestia looked up, her expression was the face you would make when you realized you messed up.

" Uhm, no! I have the schools number. " Hestia made eye contact with Takahashi.

" Alright. Get Easdale as soon as you can. " Takahashi answered. " Anyways. Suzuku and Rino you two are next, you guys will try and take her time by trying to sell her something! " 

I heard Hestia speaking on the phone. I could also hear the other line. We were close enough.

" Uhm Hi is Easdale there-? " Hestia spoke into the phone.

" Yes one moment. " The front desk lady answered. Transferring Hestia's phone to the one in the nurses office.

" Hello-? " Easdale said on the other line.

" Hey this is Hamilton, Hestia. " Hestia looked a little scared calling Easdale for some reason.

" Oh, why are you calling me through the school phone you have my mo- " Easdale was saying before Hestia interrupted her.

" Yeah uhm can Takahashi teleport you to the city of the the normals please. Hero Kat got Howler, Luke pretty beat up. " Hestia interrupted.

" Oh, okay. sure. " Easdale answered.

" Thanks. Later. " Hestia hung up, then yelled to Takahashi. " You can teleport Easdale here! "

" Alright. " Takahashi yelled back. Then Easdale appeared at the front of the bus. She walked to the back of the bus. Made eye contact with Hestia, nodded. Then went to go heal Luke. Something seemed strange.

" Okay you know the drill Howler. " Easdale spoke. 

Easdale put her hand over his broken nose and black eye. Luke screamed as her hand started to glow. His nose went back to the shape and colour it was before Kat threw her fists at him. His black eye also went away. Easdale took her hand away. Luke looking like just before the fight.

Easdale turned to Hestia.

" You want me to heal your eye? " She asked.

" I'm okay, thanks though. " Hestia answered.

" Anytime. " Easdale walked to the front of the bus again.

" Thank you Emily. " Takahashi told Easdale.

Emily was her first name. Easdale did give Takahashi permission to call her by her first name. Takahashi wasn't Easdale's teacher. For he's actually her uncle. Takahashi's younger sister married into the name Easdale, and they couldn't have a child so they adopted. And they gave her a name instead of the couple that created her. So even though Easdale never had Takahashi as homeroom because he was teacher a graduating class at the time she got to Taiyo, and then that's why we got him the next year. Takahashi's sister and her husband passed away when Easdale was around 9. forcing her to live with Takahashi. So Takahashi is almost her dad. Weird to think of it. If you wanna know how I know this, when I was healing in Easdale's office once. We we're talking about pasts and stuff. I told her mine and she told me hers.

" Anytime Takahashi. " Easdale gave a small bow out of respect. Takahashi teleported Easdale back to Taiyo.

" Alright. Lesson learned. Kat's violent. " Takahashi spoke, he started driving again.

" I'm just glad I'm not dead. " Luke answered.

" At least I got a funny video. " Hestia giggled.

" We should watch it at Carter's apartment later. " Luke laughed. He liked watching people get hurt. Even himself. Which is something I don't think I'll ever understand personally.

" I'm down. " I chuckled.

" We should watch it at the after party of us getting Kat on our team. " Hestia smiled.

" Great idea. " Luke laughed.
