The compound turned out to be reasonably easy to find. I stood in front of the black gates, taking a moment to study the beautiful decor from what I could see from my stance. After picking out a restaurant to meet at later, Kai went back to the hotel room to work on a plan to punish his coven, as well as devising a plan to siphon permanent magic. I wished him luck, to which he replied by laughing- I expected it anyway.
I called up Rebekah who was more than eager to catch up again, not wasting any time to give me the directions to her home. There was a silver buzzer attached to the steel gates, I press the button and was astonished to already see the blonde girl standing on the other side of the gate, wearing an over excited smile."Lovely to see you again Lyla, please, come in", she stands aside as the black gates open gracefully.
"Wow, your home is.. breathtaking ", I stated as I follow her through the hallway. In the centre of the compound stood a beautiful stone water fountain, with purple flowers hanging around the edges. The floor was made of Moroccan marble, the sun glistening on the reflected area. Above my head there were black railings that trailed along a balcony, overlooking the fountain. That must be where the bedrooms are situated, her family must be loaded.
"Thank you, it's been in the family for years. I myself would prefer a more modern look, but my two older brothers share a love for centuries old styled homes. Anyways, I'll show you the mini bar, it's my favourite part of the compound ", Rebekah pulled my arm toward the other end of the house, past the water fountain into a fancy looking room with bright fairy lights surrounding the edges of the ceiling. Woah. It put my family home to shame, this place is twice as big, not to mention more expensive. Once we entered the room fully she let go of my arm and went over to the mini bar, which, held more alcohol than an actual bar. Stunning black tinted oak, furnished with crimson red velvet stools, along with a matching couch in the corner of the room. I blinked countless times around the entire room, I couldn't believe this was her house.
Rebekah noticed my baffled expression and laughed lightly. "Its not as spectacular as you think love, I've seen far better homes in my lifetime. Would you like a drink?".
"Sure, I'll take a vodka and peach nectar if you have any ", I smiled at her while I took a much anticipated seat on one of the velvet stools. It's so fucking comfy.
"Of course, I'm pretty sure theres every mixer you can think of back here", the blonde girl turned her back and rumaged through lines of bottles.
"When you said in your lifetime, you sounded as if you've lived through two world wars", I giggled while fixing my denim skirt that slid up from taking a seat. She spun around with the peach juice I requested, eager for me to taste my request.
She seemed to dodge my sentence, not looking directly at me anymore. "Here you go, one vodka and peach nectar- shit, I forgot the ice. Won't be a moment!", she called out as her heels clicked further away from the mini bar. I tapped my nails on the glass while I waited for her return, processing what to wear to dinner tonight. Its just a casual, two friends hanging out sort of dinner but, I still wanted to look my best. Maybe even tease the hell out of the siphoner. My thoughts were abruptly stopped by a presence in the doorway. A shiver went down my spine for some odd reason, though I wasn't frightened by the unfamiliar figure.
"I don't believe we've met, you must be a friend of Rebekah's, is that correct?", the lean brunette asked while placing his hands in his pockets. The man appeared to be in his early thirties, from which I assumed was Rebekah's brother. His choice of clothing was- quite different to what I've been used to so far in New Orleans. A fitted white shirt closed together with a navy suit, Someone's posh as fuck.
