"Far too long we have gone without an honest leader. Far too long we have been ignorant and blind to Marie's ways. I say no more. We will thrive again as a community, strengthening our numbers, putting our powers to good use", Henry, the elder, spoke amongst the coven gathering in the warehouse.

-" As head of counsel, and as elder of the Virgo's, I hereby anoint Lyla Tilbury as our new leader", he gestured his hand towards my anxious physique.

Holy shit.

Its happening. I am about to become coven leader, and I cant believe it. It felt like yesterday that I was waking up in the prison world, coming to terms with being shunned. But alas, the dark days are finally over. A new beginning was right in front of my eyes. In front of his eyes.

I squeezed Kai's hand in comfort before rising from my seat in the front row of benches. He then pulled me in closer to his form, planting a gentle kiss on the side of my cheek.

"Well, what are you waiting for beautiful? Go claim leadership", he teased with a smirk.

After the cheering ceased, I was met with numerous stares and intrigued coven members. I stepped up onto the stage, carefully striding over to the elder - who wore the kindest smile I've ever seen.

"Just say aye at the end of each question", he whispered as he held a gold inflamed candle between our distance.

Taking a deep breath, I tried to remember the speech I had to give at the end of the ceremony- the last thing I wanted was to sound like a babbling idiot in front of my fellow coven members.

"Lyla Tilbury, do you vow to protect your people, in all matters, for as long as you reign as coven leader?", Henry asked aloud.

"Aye"

He nodded in improvement before continuing, "and do you vow to always be truthful to your people, doing everything in your power to keep them out of the dark, no matter the situation?", he emphasized the latter.

One could only assume why.

"Aye"

"Fellow Virgo's, if you would chant the initiation with me".

I glanced at the small crowd in front of me, hoping they wouldn't be outraged at what I had to say in my speech moments from now. My worrisome thoughts were interrupted by loud chanting.

"Celema vatos, nekto hera"

Amidst the crowd chanting, I noticed the flame on the candle kept growing. I could feel the heat from the flame within the close proximity of our bodies.

"Celema vatos, nekto hera "

I watched as the growing gold infused flame abruptly flickered into a glowing light that hovered above the candle. My lips parted in astonishment as the light then made its way towards my hand.

Then I realized, the glowing light from the initiation candle was my magic. From that moment I knew Henry kept this part of the ceremony from my knowledge, in order to surprise me in the best way possible. I felt like crying, out of happiness of course, knowing I would get to practice magic again.

As soon as the glowing light entered my hand, I instantly felt the familiar warmth of my magic swim through my veins, clinging to my insides. It was euphoric. The tingling sensation lingered at my fingertips for another moment, but it abruptly ended once I felt the magic sink itself into my anatomy.

The smoke from the aftermath rose to the top of the ceiling, suddenly disappearing into nothingness - signifying the end of the ceremony.

Oh God, it's time for the speech.
