It had been an hour since the head of the counsel performed the aura spell on my mother.

There were many different emotions currently circulating in my mind. I felt unbelievably relieved to finally have my voice heard. Henry saw that my mother had in fact consumed most of my magic, to which he felt guilt struck, since he knew of my banishment.

Upon receiving the harsh truth about his leader, Henry immediately dismissed the rest of the coven. My aunt, kai and myself were also instructed to wait in one of the empty rooms inside the warehouse, while he dealt with my mother.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this moment on, but one thing is prominent- my family can kiss their beloved coven goodbye.

"Its been thirty minutes, what the hell is taking so long?", the brunette complained profusely.

"He's probably telling my parents where to relocate. Virgo's take shunning very seriously", I sighed in response, leaning forward on the fold up chair.

Then a thought appeared in my head.

"Wendy, what about ben?", I stood abruptly from my chair, causing my aunt to jolt from fright as she was in deep contemplation.

-" I haven't seen him since the shunning, I wanna know if he's okay".

"Yes, of course. I can bring you back to the house as soon as possible", wendy replied wearing a tight smile.

I know I couldn't keep him away from our father, but I just didn't like the idea of him being raised by the cruel man. On the other hand, my father adored him. So I know he wouldn't be in any kind of danger at least.

I was chatting with Kai about the differences between Gemini and Virgo power, when the office door swung open. Standing in the doorway was Henry, appearing tired but content nonetheless. Nerves riddled my core as I had a notion of what to expect next.

"I'd like to speak with miss Tilbury alone", he gestured for Kai and my aunt to leave the room.

Kai's Pov

Witnessing how Lyla's folks treat her got me thinking of my own family.

I never thought I would meet anyone with similar issues of my own. The way her father looked at her tonight struck so much anger inside, I wasn't sure if i could handle it. Luckily for him though, I didn't kill him. If Lyla hadn't of touched my shoulder, he'd currently be melted into nothing but sizzling flesh.

There was a high chance of the blue eyed girl becoming coven leader, and it got me thinking. Why don't I take matters into my own hands and become Gemini leader? After all, I'm rightfully in line to be coven leader once my own Dad kicks the bucket. Surely no one would be suspicious if he happened to accidentally run into a knife? Or three.

"Kai?", Wendy's voice interrupted my dark thoughts.

"Hm?"

"I like the way she is with you. Lyla I mean. I don't know how you've done it, but you've seemed to bring out her fiery side. Its glorious to see", she stood beside my stance with her hands clasped together in front of her physique.

-"but, having said that, I want your word that you'll keep her safe. I've heard things about your past, kai". She grew an unreadable expression.

"I appreciate the concern, but you've nothing to worry about. I would never hurt her"
