Information (Pt. 2)

Magic: To find out what magic type you are, doctors will perform tests on you when you are firstborn. However, you can't start to use magic until you are around 10 years of age, varying depending on the magic you are. This is because you need to start learning about the certain magic you can perform as all magic require a certain amount of knowledge, for example, if you were an Orange witch, controlling healing, you would need to know each layer of the human anatomy and how it works together. If you didn't know then either it would create something that you weren't expecting, or it would not work at all.

Mixed blood: You can control two or more types of powers; however, you would not be able to control any of them to the fullest it could be. You can be mixed blood even if your parents are both pure blood with the same power, even if the chance is small.

Pure blood: You control one type of power and can control powers that others may not have been able to if they are mixed blood. Pure bloods can control other powers but only to the extent of mixed blood's and not to the level of their primary power. You can be pure blood but come from parents that aren't of the same power or are mixed blood, though the change of that happening is very small.

University: Magical Descendant University (MDU) has two sections, one for the ages of 15-17 which acts more like a secondary school, and the second for the ages of 18-22 which has more classes that are not taught in the first section. All pupils in both sections are pureblood.

First section: This focuses more on the research about people's powers and the different aspects behind each type of magic. This varies from the second section as unlike the second section doesn't have self-defence lessons or fighting technique lessons. The first section also has normal lessons such as math's, English, and sciences. To get into the first section, the pupil must excel in most normal subjects, they must be pureblood, and they must be able to perform the simple magic acts that prove that they are pure blood. This is the school under MDU however there are only around 200 people per year that can get into the second section.

Second section: There are three years in the second section. This focuses more on the defensive side of magic, preparing its students for emergencies and it starts to prepare them for the more physical jobs they will get if they can graduate. This tests what they can do with their powers if they can do something special as not every person can do the same thing despite being pure blood. There are only around 20 people each year that graduate from the second sections. This is because the second section first year is meant to physically, emotionally and mentally drain everyone so they can get a feel for what jobs they will get when graduated. If the students can get past the exhaustion, then the second test in the second year is to beat a different student in the fighting square. If they can get through both years then they focus more on how to refine their powers and to exceed their limits in dire situations.

Fighting square: The fighting square is a competition that happens during the students second year in the second section. The top 20 students are allowed to graduate to the third year, however, if you win the entire competition you will receive £50,000 and an internship to a position that they want to do once graduate the third year.

How it works: Two students are put in an arena that is covered by a shield that has regenerative powers that keep the two students from dying. There is no access from the outside until a student is defeated. The terrain randomises for each new set of students, this may help or hinder students. An example of a terrain could be a completely dry desert which hinders green magic students from growing big plants however it can help the yellow magic students as it would be direct sunlight. A lot of students don't participate as it is a fight to the death, and their two ways that a student can be defeated is either they faint, or they die.
