Chapter Twenty-Nine: To Be Spoken or Unspoken
_______________||Third Person||
Lily and Harry had been thoroughly enjoying themselves whilst staying at the lonely Grimmauld Place, but despite the loneliness a day never went to waste. Sirius took them out all the time for shopping, playing in the snow like little kids or for entertainment; and Remus cooked the most amazing food (although Kreacher the house elf could've just done it) and her darling James was remembered every night. Harry loved being in the presence of his goofy, loving godfather every day for that week. Lily has incredible fun with her friends, they took ostentatious care of her as if she were royalty of some sort.. but hey, don't all concerned friends do that?

On Christmas Eve, Lily was surprised to find out that the home would be all her's. It was scheduled to be a full moon that night, so Remus left for the Shrieking Shack early that morning. Sirius said he needed to go do some last minute Christmas 'stuff' (typical Sirius Black), and Lily was left home alone with Harry who played with his toys happily.

She was sitting on the couch in the sitting room, lazily watching the fire's flames dance in a choreographed manner. A large mug of hot cocoa rested between her hands, slowly warming her from the frozen weather outside had permitted. Harry was on the floor, being a kid and playing with kiddy stuff.
And then just like that, her thoughts were back to him. Him. Severus Snape, the constant winner of her mind and heart. God, was there a day she wasn't thinking of him? It had been an adventurous and action-packed fun week with her friends, but it had also been long and torturous without seeing her Sev. She'd be seeing him tomorrow though, she made plans to get to Spinner's End on Christmas afternoon after the feast with Sirius.
She hadn't exactly told Sirius or Remus about her departing midday, but she was sure they wouldn't mind. Everywhere she went, and everyone she stayed with made her feel like a million-ton burden. It was as if she weighed everyone down, even Severus for that painful fact. He would never admit it, but sometimes she can see it in his eyes.
"Owoh! Owoh!" Harry's voice snapped her out of her endless thoughts. She smirked at his attempt of the word 'owl', but instead of correcting him she walked to the kitchen to let the owl in.
Attached to it's leg was a small letter. Anticipating who it was from, she opened it quite fast.
1:30?
The handwriting was too familiar to need a signature.
1:30.
She sent the the owl back to Severus with her confirmation of when her arrival will be tomorrow, and headed back into the dimly lit sitting room where Harry was. The only thing lighting up the room besides the handsome fire was a brilliant and dazzling Christmas Tree, high to the ceiling with a beautiful green colour to it. Ornaments of red and gold were hung in honour and pride of Gryffindor, whilst golden lights were swung around its entire, flashing nicely. Gifts were crowded underneath, but Lily had kept her gift for Severus inside her closet. She didn't want Sirius to be snooping in business that's clearly not his.
"Alright Harry," Lily sat on the ground across her son, and smiled encouragingly. "Let's talk. I'll teach you how to talk properly, okay?"
"Awkay."
