"Oh don't you dare look back,
Just keep your eyes on me.
I said you're holding back,
She said shut up and dance with me!
This woman is my destiny,
She said oh oh oh,
Shut up and dance with me."

Chapter Thirty-Six

_________

*Four months later*

||Third Person||

"Are you asking me to be your date Severus Snape?" Lily mused, the corner of her lip slightly lifted, feeling greatly entertained yet acting quizzically at the same time for the man in front of her. His form was standing straight and tall, a brooding elegance and bat like appearance about him. The same man who she trusted with the most delicate organ of life in anyone's body, that could provide pain beyond anything physical such as breaking a bone. Her heart. A heart that had been broken, happy, pained, strained, tainted, hurt, ached, throbbed and positively impacted. Mainly loved. A heart that loved and received love in return gracefully.

Severus smirked and folded his arms. He watched as his beautiful Lily packed up her remaining ingredients for a potion that she had just finished making, and sent the vials of tested antidotes for Slug and Jigger away safely.

Lily had purchased a new home, big enough for more than just Harry and her, just so Severus could make his common visits. It tended to get lonely when Harry was asleep or playing, and when she wasn't working. She missed being an apprentice; spending the enticing afternoons in the depths of the dark dungeon with her sour and inexplicably sweet lover whilst aiding children. Although her former employment was quite the branch to relationship and contemporary experiences; it was just easier this way. Much more reliable to be testing ingredients for London's potion apothecary at home whilst keeping an easy view of how Harry was doing.

Harry. Her baby. Going through such a blazing hell, having to deal with - a piece of dark magic - within him. Now that Lily knew what it was, she had finished all contact with St Mungo's about Harry's appointments. She had only obliviated them for a swell purpose: protecting her dear son. If they had known about this Horcrux, and believed that killing him was the only way- no. It couldn't be. She was far too determined to find another way.

Lily absently shook her head, unaware that Severus noticed her little gestures and eye quirks with a concerned manner. Her head was just too far off, thinking of all the impossible little pieces forming into the messiest and hardest puzzle ever.

It was beyond absurdity to even think of killing a boy - just to remove a Horcrux. There has to be another way. She wouldn't stop looking or researching until an actual and valid cure was found.

"Lils, are you alright?" Severus asked, his voice etched sweetly with the deepest concern.

She looked up at him and falsely smiled, hoping to convince him that such irony didn't currently exist and control every limb in her body to numb just at the thought of it. A Horcrux. It sounded like a type of jewelry, and even housed what sounded like an inappropriate word.
