It's been three months since Amber stepped foot in Mystic Falls, leaving Beacon Hills behind. It took her a while to adjust to the town and the people in it but she did. She was currently in bed drawing when Damon walked in.

"Did you find Stefan?" Amber asked as she placed her notebook down and sat up.

"No, we haven't, we did find the safe though, but he wasn't there, sorry Kiddo," Damon said, making sure not to tell her about the dead body that was inside the safe.

"Do you think he's okay?" Amber asked, looking up at Damon who sat next to her.

"I don't know, but he's... he's Stefan, he always finds a way out, he'll be okay," Damon let out a sigh as he laid on her bed. After a moment of silence Amber finally asked the question that was on her mind.

"Do you think he hates us?" Amber whispered.

"And why would he hate us?" Damon questioned.

"He was gone all summer Damon, drowning over and over again in that safe, we should've known something was up when he didn't even call us or answer our calls. But instead, we ignored it," Amber said. Her brother was drowning all summer and she didn't even know, she should've had a gut feeling or something but she didn't, and because she didn't she felt guilty.

"He doesn't hate us, Amber," Damon said as he grabbed her hand for comfort.

"Well, he should. He should hate us because while he was drowning we were here. You were enjoying your summer with your new girlfriend and I was..." Amber stopped herself as she looked down at her hands.

"And you spent all summer crying over your boyfriend and friends," Damon said, sitting up and facing her.

"I wasn't crying," Amber said, rolling her eyes at him.

Damon let out a sigh as he looked at her, "Sitting in your room all day eating nothing but ice cream and listening to sad music is the same as crying,"

"Whatever, we should keep looking for hi-" Amber was cut off by Damon.

"No, I'm going to keep looking for him, you're going to go back to Beacon Hills and fix everything," Damon patted her shoulder and then stood up, walking out of her room and down to the living room. Amber let out a sigh as she followed him.

"I am not going back to Beacon Hills Damon, especially when Stefan is missing," Amber said.

"Listen, Amber, I am not going to fight you on this but you deserve to be happy and when I came to see you in Beacon Hills you seemed really happy there. I haven't seen you that happy since... since James. Just go back to Beacon Hills and when we find Stefan I'll drag his ass to your front porch so you know he's fine,"  Amber was about to say something but Damon's phone dinged, "Oh, I have to go Elena texted me, she thinks she knows where Stefan is," Damon grabbed his leather jacket and was about to walk outside.
